Gears of War - new achievements and more on the way

Calling all COGs. It appears that Epic just can't do enough in supporting their blockbuster of a game, Gears Of War, and who are we to argue? Whilst recently speaking on the official Gears of War forums, Mark Rein Vice President of Epic Games stated that “the next Gears of War update is coming along nicely” and has provided just a tid-bit of info.

The statement made today on the Gears of War forums reads:


Folks,
The next Gears of War update is coming along nicely. We don’t have a release timeframe for it yet but I just wanted to let you know we’re making significant progress. In addition to the previously mentioned plan to improve roadie run we’re also going to have new achievements relating to Annex and the Hidden Fronts DLC. Of course no title update would be complete without more exploit squashing and the ever-popular “general housekeeping”.

I'd get a real kick if they actually decided to ever launch that mini-golf game. Either as an easter egg, or a full-blown online mini-game.

Enthusiasm? Celebrated? What does that mean? The article is simply announcing news about an update. And if there is a big hoopla about the game, who are you to decide if it is getting too much hoopla?

Enthusiasm is driven by the fans. If your not a fan then ignore it. I don't see the big deal about MGS but I know that there is a fan base for it. IMO that is an over rated series, but I don't wonder why there is so much hype about it. Many people like it.

The same goes for every other game out there. People are always bashing the Halo series, but the other 7 million (approximate) people like it. You yourself may not. Does that mean that 7 million people have bad taste? No, just different.

When was the last time you played a dating sim? According to Japan, that's a really good genre of games.

Great news, this will definetly give me a good reason to start playing again as I can't put down GHII lately. Even though I know the content won't be free, this might be the first time I purchase points :(

Does anybody know whether those of us with banned consoles are going to be able to download these future updates, like for instance how you can with the dashboard updates and the backwards compatibility updates.

I can see problems if not, as some of these updates or patches, are used to correct issues in games, which are rushed for release, are microsoft saying "tough ****" enjoy what you can ?

Backwards compatibility updates can be burned to cd, others cannot.

No it's not...most of the "housekeeping" fixes online glitches...something ppl WISHED they could have done with Halo 2...
