Peter Moore, he of Microsoft fame, has spoke positively about Rare's recent output. The developer has been criticsed about their releases after being acquired by the big M. Moore says that Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power had a "platform-driving presence". He went on to say that: "It signalled that this wasn't going to be the same as Xbox 1, which was dominated by Mature-rated games, if you will, and for many people will go down in history as the Halo box or the shooter box. Kameo was very important. Kameo has done well; Perfect Dark Zero hit our expectations." Suppose he would really.

Why would he need to defend their output? Kameo, PDZ and viva Pinata, 3 good games in around 18 months, how does that need defending
They seem to be doing fine to me, ok so what they release now does not have the same impact as it did on the Snes and N64, but even then i think everything except the original Donkey Kong was over rated (Golden eye was just doom in real 3d as was Perfect dark, I was playing real FPS like Half life in multiplayer at the time so they were a big step back for me). Their original Xbox output may have been a bit on the weak side in terms of numbers (I can only recall conker, but I loved that) but it's their 360 output that counts now, and that seems fine to me.

Are you using some kind of bad translation program? No offense, but its really hard to encrypt your posts...
Anyway back to topic: Who cares if it takes them 3 years to finish a game... as long as they don't screw up. Imagine what it would be like if Rare belonged to EA... The new Banjo would look like the first Crash bandicoot game...

Vva Pinata is one of my favorite games on the 360, it's unfortunate that the sales of this game were luke warm at best. I hope they make a sequel, but it likely wont happen. Kameo was fun but it was way to short, and co-op play was a blast in Perfect Dark, but multiplayer sucked. Anyway can't wait for more of what rare has to offer.

Well, Rare may not be making games like they used to back in the N64 days, but Viva Pinata is great and PDZ wasn't that bad IMO. It had great multiplayer and gotta love Co-Op Split Screen against Bots. And the new Banjo game is going to be awesome. But, Kameo was boring but had it's fun spots.

SONY FANBOY!!!!!!!!!! :p See the lack of information there? Just because you support the PS3 doesn't mean you're a fanboy. Yet I am because I support Rare, yet say I don't support Halo...both are on the Xbox/360 yet I'm still a fanboy. Everyone knows that the Fanboy shooters are the ones who never play video games.
It's stupid to lable someone who supports the PS3 and Wii, don't you think?

I gotta admire his *attempt* at something besides fps.
After Microsoft figures out that doesn't work they make every fps on the 360 imaginable.
What companies are working under M1croshaft these days?
We got Bungie and Rare and my knowledge ends there. Somebody clue me in would ya?

Well, Team Ninja, Capcom, Epic, Midway, etc? Obviously they're not exclusive, because there's really no first party devs anymore that aren't the devs of the console. Everything else is pretty much 3'rd party and as 3'rd party as you can get.

Rare have been in decline since the guiding hand of Nintendo left them and almost all of the Goldeneye dev team left to start up Free Radical Design.
PDZ was decent and Viva Pinata is addictive and I even liked Kameo but they need to do a whole lot better if they want to win back the respect of the public that they once had.
It now looks like a very shrewd move by Nintendo to cut them loose, especially as the asking price MS paid was nearly a quarter of a billion dollars!
That looks like utter madness now.
