Help 3.40 partial brick,

I have partially bricked my recently upgraded to 3.4 OEa firmware. It updated fine but when I was changing the theme I guess I messed up. I didn't back up my flash0 and dont have my data.dxr from the upgrade. I can only get into the recovery console. how do I recover from here? can I use a copy of another psp's flash0?

You need to search for the recovery pack. Then you need to download the 1.5 Official Sony Firmware and rename it to update.pbp. Then you will need to upgrade to the custom firmware again.

THEN BACKUP BOTH FLASH FOLDERS!!

This method definately works but i have heard of people formatting flash0 but i have never done this so its up to you.

z33's decompressed all the 3.40 rco's, that means they'll work on any 3.40oe-a psp. It's usually the topmenu_plugin.rco that causes semi-bricks so just swap it with the one from z33's pack (have a look in the xmb customization section)

I got the recompiled rco packs and now I don't know which ones go in the flash0 resource folder?? what is flash1 for??? So my question basically is which of these files do I use? they don't all go in the resource folder? I am now just getting a white screen ...

i'm sorry,jimburd but if you don't even know what flash1 is why were you changing your theme:eek: . What do you mean a white screen, can you now get to the xmb? if so go into theme settings and change the month to january

did you try to turn up the volume and move the d-pad around, see if you hear the clicks??? sounds like what i get when the background isn't set right??(allthough i can slightly see the icons and such):confused:

I fixed my psp with the recovery pack download that was mentioned in an earlier post. thanks alot. before I had 3.10 oe-a and with that you could not change the xmb icons. can you with 3.40 ,if you can it is the topmenuplugin.rco??

you should just search for 3.40OE Theme Packs ;)
