Hi Guys,
Having a little problem
I have a smasmung ms28 drive and using xtreme5.2. Im getting to the 10 second trick method using xread but having no luck. Have timed it and been through 1-10 seconds, also tried 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 seconds.
Anybody else had long times?
Cheers

I have the 6421 VIA using the bad flash method. Have no soldering experience so don't really want to go there. I have been through 1-20 seconds with no joy.

im using the xread (used xbmv0.5.3).
Tried this timed about 20 times with no luck. Keep getting the file is not the required size and aborting.

Have you tried using the 0800 enable disc for Sammy drives?

you don't need the enable 0800 disc if you have the via 6421 chipset/pci card as you can just use the bad flash method (works for both ms25 and ms28 drives)
It may be worth re-installing your Sata card as the via 6421 is the only compatiable sata card for the ms28. (if you power off with any other sata card it won't pick the drive back up for the "bad flash")

Exactly. That is what could be screwing up your flashing if you are trying to use the enable disk as well as the bad flash mentioned. You just need the bad flash method.
Tried re-making your USB/floppy yet?
Did you make the bootdisk with xtremebootmaker 5.3?

I would recommend 3.6 if he is using an ms28 and trying to go to 5.3 but that is if he is using the mtkflash commands (which I find easier). If you would like an easier tutorial, just send me a private message.
