Hello.
I just ordered a Wii, and also have the Wiikey modchip in hands.
But I think of installing two modchips, one is the Wiikey and the second is the Wiifree.
They will be controlled through an external switch that will be connected to their VCC, as shown in the image below:

Is it possible?
Thanks.

The main reason is the updates, the Wiifree has a lot of updates, while Wiikey have nothing. This is the main reason.

i'm with you. I would understand if all the chips had different features but they are the same.

Best bet would be to sell the wiikey and install the wiifree if you're looking for constant updates. You're not likely to see much more functionality from any of the current chips. From what I understand, the next advancement in chips is going to come when the Wii code is broken and they start coming out with all new chips which hack the Wii system, not just the drive.

No, what everyone is saying is that right now (until the wii code is broken) you will have the exact same functionality with any chip you decide on. The wiikey has a known issue with the audiofix for gamecube and some games do not work. There is an update in the works, but people seem to believe that it's not being released until they can find a way to make it incompatible with the clones that have made their way into the market. Any chip you decide on will be fine. When the Wii code is broken, there will most likely be another rush of chips onto the scene and whichever one you install now may need to be uninstalled to put a new one in. There's no chance of any of the currently released chips being able to take advantage of the Wii system once it's hacked.
Long story short, pick a chip, any chip, and do a wire install.

:) exactly!
Why not just do an external mod install instead?

Yes it's possible, but you have to switch both the VCC and GND using a DPDT switch and also remove the PIC not in use (I have a CycloWiz v3 installed and an external PIC Socket for testing other hex releases). It seems the Mods still draw some power from the three "data" lines and this is the only way we could get it to work (You also have to power off the console to switch to external if you have Connect24 enabled).

Use a serial dongle. Its a very easy mod. I can give more info if you want.
