Hello, i was planning on adding a 160gb or maybe a 250 in my ps2 and was wondering if the hd would overheat and later die on me? Asking this because i added a 250gb to my xbox and it ended up dying on me so i tapped in the fan to the 12v's and now everythings ok. What about a ps2, are there any fan mods for it? appreciate any help, thanks!

I run a maxtor 400 gb in my ps2 (v3) and it never overheats though i never have it on for more then 1 hr at a time.

you can easily cut the top of the case and add a fan and i've even seen ppl take apart the network adatper and put a fan on it

You can try FlyFan (got mine at compusa) a mini handy portable fan that plugs into the USB slot and set it right on front of your PS2 vent, :)

I just got one of these -

http://www.consoleplus.co.uk/product_info.php?pName=cooling-fan-for-ps2

It doesn't really seem that powerful to be honest, but it does get an airflow into the machine, which is the main thing.

I have a 300GB installed btw.

I WAS THINKING ABOUT INSTALLING A 500GB BY MAXTOR. I WAS WONDERING WILL IT WORK INSIDE THE PS2 UNIT. MY UNIT HAS DMS4 PRO EZI & I CURRENTLY INSTALLED A 300GB INSIDE OF IT. I PLAY MY UNIT FOR VERY LONG PERIODS AT A TIME & I NEVER RAN INTO A PROBLEM. WHEN I MEAN LONG PERIODS AT A TIME I MEAN 10+ HOURS A DAY, LOL. IF I CAN'T GET A REPLY, I WILL JUST HAVE TO HOOK IT UP & FIND OUT FOR MYSELF I GUESS. HMMM, WHERE IS MY NETWORK ADAPTER AGAIN. WAITING FOR REPLY FROM BRAKKEN. SEND YOUR REPLY TO: WILLYWONKAFCTORY@AOL.COM OR JUST SIMPLY POSTED IT HERE. EITHER WAY I WILL READ IT, THANKS. :D
