newbe with some q's

hey guys & girls
i got my wii chipped with cyclowiz v2 which will be upgraed to v3 very soon. im reading all these threads on gcos. correct me if im wrong, gcos can enable the play of any region gamecube games on a pal wii thats chiped? if yes..
what is gcos exactly?
if its like a freeloader,in what way do i burn it to a dvd using nero?
if its not like freeloader, how do you actualy make it?
keeping im mind im just a newbe so i im not that familier with this jargon.

i just want to play ntsc gc games on my wii. then later il learn about homebrew:o .
any help will be great:) .

GCOS (gamecube OS) is a replacement os for the gamecube made by the community. It has been adopted for use on the wii as a region free gamecube loader. All you do it burn it, pop it in, and swap out for the other region game.

i tried buring it as a 'data disc' on the same blank dvd i use to back up my games. but the wii just says 'unable to read disk. when i use the same method to burn my games (choose recorder then 'burn image') the file extension doesnt come up unless i go to 'all extensions'
"gcocyclo.gcm 1.35g" - is that the right file im suppose to put on dvd?

Don't burn it as a data disc, you have to burn it as an image. Rename the file to gcos.iso before burning.

man i didnt know you can just rename a file, i always thought you need a converter or something. neway i know that you can get n64 games & others on the wii using a program. iv been on search but i cant find exactly how to do the whole method. do you still use project 64 for the program to load up n64 games to the wii using dvd?
if not what is the program to be used when doing this?
and what program do i use if i want to do a multigame disc & how to burn it?

i found the thread for the multigame, but im having trouble with geting a 'prompt cammand' to come up so i can put the files into one. i seem to change the directory to do the adding. it just stays on my documents. whats the command i use to change what directory im in?
