I remember seeing a post by someone saying that they made a homemade SDGecko card. Does anyone have information about how to make this? I've got a spare gamecube memory card and an extra SD card, is there some way I might be able to do this at home?

Any instructions on how to do this would be appreciated.

Sorry to resurrect this thread from the dead, but I have another question on this...

It mentions in the guide that you can use an SD Card Socket as the housing for the SD Card. Does anyone know where one can pick up such an item? I did a search on ebay, but couldn't find anything at all. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, one other question I have on this...

Will the adapter still leave access to the gamecube memory card, or is that just bypassed when using the card as an SD Gecko?

2 ways I can think about to get a SD-Card-Socket:

A) Buy a cheap Cardreader and use it's SD-Card-Socket

B) Buy a Mini-SD-Card with an adapter (->normal size SD-Card) and then use that adapter as a SD-Card-Socket.
( of course you should have a 2nd adapter to be used with your PC-Card-Reader... so... if you don't have a 2nd one it would be wise to buy a 2nd Mini-SD)

Has anyone tested the MiniSD for compatibility? The reason I'm asking is I have a transflash card for my cell phone, but the SD card adapter that came with it wasn't able to be read by my printer which has slots for SD cards. Normal ones work fine, but the tflash/SD adapter aren't able to be read. I contacted Canon and asked them what's up and was told that their printers aren't able to read tflash cards even with the SD adapter. I'm concerned that I go through the trouble to set up the SD adapter as the holder for the card in the SD gecko and the whole thing not working. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I know the minisd/sd adapter I own works fine in my wii. As for compatability with gc applications/homebrew... i dunno. Newegg is selling transcend 1gb mini sd with sd adapters for about 8 bucks each. I bought 4 so I won't mind sacrificing 1 sd adapter and an old gc memory card to find out..
