Back-up Media switch!

Having backed up 5 of my games 3 worked and 2 wouldn't. Apperantly i need to back up the 2 fails onto dvd-r's.

Will a simple copy(the back-up) and burn(new dvd-r) do the job??

In theory it should work, but there are a number of other factors which could've caused your Wii not to read the discs and a simple copy could bring those errors across.

The games that do work are they burnt on DVD-Rs? And so the games that don't work are on DVD+R's, if that's the case then your Wii simply doesn't like the DVD+R brand of media and a simple disc copy onto a DVD-R should work.

But if the DVD+R media is a shitty brand, it might be worth running one of the disc check programs to see if there are burn errors on the discs. If there are, then the copy will most likely bring these errors over and the new DVD-R burn will fail to read in your Wii also.

If you have time, re-rip the games, or risk wasting a DVD-R.

I'm only using verbatim discs. I asked what was best and that was the outstanding reply i got. I'm picking up my burner tommorrow so i'll run a few and post a reply here to let you know how i got on.
