It has been confirmed that Sony's PS3 has been BANNED From UK jails due to fears related to the PS3's ability to end and receive radio signals via its integrated WiFi capabilities.



The decision was made based on fears surrounding the PS3’s Wi-Fi functionality and its ability to share data with Sony’s handheld PSP.

"Advice was issued to all prisons in December 2005 that the Sony PlayStation 3 was barred from the prison estate because of the equipment's ability to send and receive radio signals," said John Reid, in a response to shadow secreatery David Davis’ recent querying of Home Office regulations concerning the use of games consoles.

That's right, your the big tough guy who's been in jail. So why don't you let us know why they let high end entertainment into jails then? I would think it's a punishment, not a place to play games and watch cable TV, which there are many, many people who work hard everyday and can't afford that sh*t.

thats some crazy ****. i never heard of prisoners getting game systems. especially not a ps3!! WTF!:eek:

I was wondering that too, all they get is Bubba to play with. I would say dream on! prisoners.

Exact reason why crime in countries like that are outrageous... why would anyone be scared of prison when they get put in a room with a PS3 and some games to play?

If someone robbed your house and attacked your family, do you think they should be playing PS3 for a few years before they are back out on the street? Or should they be punished for their crimes and take in the back from Bubba?
