I have a Viper GC installed on the gamecube with Cobra BIOS v2.1. I have tried tweaking the laser with millions of settings but it still refuses to read any burnt media (I'm using RitekG04). All it does is tell me the copied media is an unknown file system. It runs original games just fine. I dumped the image from rawdump_wii_disc_dumper v2.0. I tried padding the file to 3 gigs with this stupid fstfix program. I came back to my computer this morning after setting it up with the 3 gig option and the file is up to 9 gigs. This program sucks what the hell is wrong with it. Anyway, I'm confused as to why I can't get any backups to be read by the gamecube. I'm considering trying a different BIOS now; we'll see how that works out. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Dont you have access to download iso's ( sorry if that is against rules )
I personally have the 2.1 firmware and it works fine, media is a greater concern.
ADVDInfo: MCC 01RG20
The above is what I have found to be reliable, even by replacing the case to accept full size dvd-r's the gamecube has always been rather fickle about media.
The verbatims i use 8cm work a treat but are more expensive.
I did find some datawrite 8cm's that were good but unfortunately they changed the dye and became unusable.
Nero is what i have used and fstfix for invalid size iso as reported in nero.
You can adjust the pot, but it does not guarantee all media will work. Best bet is to use a media it does like.

That is true about the media but it is ritekG04. I mean that is quality media from what I understand. Simply put, rawdump v2.0 just won't work on my machine. It spits out garbage ISOs which is why fstfix went all looney. I use v1.3 instead and everything works fine now.
