SATA Help

Hey guys, i'm preparing to flash my Samsun soon. I'm not sure whether i have the correct SATA to do so. Can anyone tell me if any of the following is the right onboard SATA to flash a Samsung? I have a ASRock 775i945GZ motherboard.

if you got a samsung fw=ms28 then it is no good only via chipset will do.

if your going to do a samsung fw=ms25 it should be okay.you might have to edit (thats might) the mtkflash for it.

I've got a Samsung ms28. What via chipset do i need to purchase?

Also, where do i get the sata cable from to connect my samsung drive to my pc?

Just out of curiosity; if i did have an ms25, then out of the list on XBM, what option do i choose? e.g ultra ATA Contollers etc.

you want a vt6421 pci sata card.then when you use xbm select the card,should show up as something liki via raid controller or vt6421 via controller.

you should get a sata cable included with the card.

I bought my console premodded, with Xtreme 4.2. So can i still flash it again to Xtreme 5.2B?

or do i need to do something different?

looks like you got to burn the 0800 file to dual layer disc and stick it in the console prior to doing the hack.42 has firmguard if i am not mistaken,if you aint got it you will have to get the 3.3 firmware that has the 0800 .iso image.

Also can i flash MS25 consoles with the vt6421 pci sata card?

you got to burn the 0800.iso to dual layer dvd+r.just open the 360 then power it on,eject the tray and insert the 0800 disc in for say 10 secs,then eject it,close the tray then remove the sata cable from the 360 to the drive and attach your own.DONT TURN THE 360 OFF.

so to read from the drive you got to use the 0800 disc and you got to do the same for when you flash over to it.

and vt6421 is good for both fw=ms25 and fw=ms28.use one myself on its own with no onboard i seem to have probs getting this one to pick up hitachi drives.okay cos i got another tower with ich5 onboard.
