Colourful-Zone started this service in the begining of feb.

I bricked my psp on feb 21st and found this service for $62, its based out of hong kong.

I was alittle nervous at first as we all would be sending my psp to an unfamiliar place, but the customer srvice has been outstanding, EVERY email I wrote them I got a response within the hour and they kept me informed the whole process.

They even fixed my sensitivity for the down directional button for free, heres the log from my order status sheet from there site when I log into my account and view this purchase:

Pending Payment Confirmation --- We got the payment notice from you. After the payment is cleared and your PSP is shipped to us, we will repair your PSP and we will send it back once it is OK. Thanks for your purchase with us.
Order Pending Processing --- The payment is cleared. Now we are waiting your PSP ship to us. After that, we will unbrick your PSP and we will send it back once it is OK. Thanks.

Order Pending Processing --- As you said in the box, we will ship the PSP back to you using your box.

Order Processing --- We had received your PSP and it is being repaired. Once it is OK, we will inform to you. Thank you for using our service.

Order Processing --- Your PSP is repaired without any problem. We will ship it to you shortly.

We will confirm to you again with detail about your package after it is shipped out.

Thanks for purchasing with us and using our service.

And then they emailed me the details on the shipping and I tracked it all the way home, And YAY I have a clean 1.5 psp again!!!!

the psp looks good there are no signs of entry!

So If you are looking for a good unbricking service Colourful-Zone is a great choice from my experience

They also seem to have "hard-downgrading" service, some ppl might find that useful..
Only US$6.50..

The only thing I can see them doing is either replacing the motherboard.. Or having some temp. setup device with a UP chip on it.

I think they replace the MOBO though because its a hell of a lot easier unless they have someway to read and write to the flash

No this is a Hard-Down service they open the PSP remove the Flash chip read the data (IDStorgae) then take a 1.5 Flash image alter is (IDStorage from Host Flash + Patch if required) Flash the chip, next solder it back onto the motherboard and close up the PSP and ship it back to you.

A motherboard costs alot more then this service and to me since I live in the UK its £33 the shipping would push it up a little but its resinable considering they reflash the psp to 1.5 saving you buying another system and risking it having new firmware.

well 2 things here, first of all it was mater chief who found this site not psp-guru, you can see it on this thread http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=47275
and second of all when they open up the psp wudnt they have to remove the warranty label? on the thread in the link above, masterchief got his psp back and his warranty label was still on and was fine ( no VOID on it), some one on there was saying that the company uses the psp's serial port to access the flash, not quite sure though, just have a look at the bottom of the first page and the second page
