It's made me crazy. I just drop my PSP and the UMD door broken :crying:. Even I manage to fix(with a tape), the UMD can't be read anymore. PSP didn't boot up. Thanks god, I still can access recovery mode. That's the only way I can boot up my PSP again with UMD disable. Still some noisy sound heard from UMD case. Damn. Bad day. Going to send it to repair tomorrow. Had anyone drop your PSP and had UMD problem? What you do then? repair it or trade in?

I think the most wise choice is to repair it. The cheapest place I found to buy replacement parts is at http://www.mod-chip.com (http://www.mod-chip.com/index-cart-us.php?go=en/select_psp_main.htm)
They sell a full optical block for US$ 37.95 plus US$ 3.95 for delivery costs (Express Mail, Worldwide shipping).
If you don't care about your warranty (if your PSP stops working and you send it to Sony, they will probably update it), and you have the required skills to take your PSP apart, I don't see why you shouldn't buy this.

This place is real cheap (a little to cheap for my liking) I'm not sure how trustworthy it is, I just read about it on another post somewhere, but anyway, check it out, it seems to sell them for $23.95.
Anyway... here (http://www.divineo.cn/cgi-bin/div-cn/psp-lens) is the link :p
