Just download a version of Snesx9 for my psp the other day and it seems to be running alittle slow. Does anyone know what set up you have to use to get it running at the right speed??
Is this the best Snes emulator for the psp?

Make sure you have the ME version, it runs better.
Also not all games run well on snesTYL (Donkey Kong, Starfox etc.)
It is the best SNES emulator though.

I find I can run most games on quite a low processor speed, normally 222mhz-266mhz, I think you should really just play around with the settings, I normally set my games low on processor speeds so the battery lasts, but the frameskip is on about 2, and I also turn down the sound quality (this gives little effect, but it can be the difference between just slow, and prefect speed).

If you want to try some advanced toggling, you can change certain settings, but I would recommend you put the FPS on so you know how you are affecting it.

If you want to use the basic settings I use, they are below :D

Engine - PSP accel. + approx soft.
Frameskip - 1
VSync - no
Sound mode - emulated, output
Output frequency - 11025hz
APU Cycles ratio - 200% (No idea why? Chaged it to this for some reason)
PSP Clockspeed - 222mhz

(Then in the Hack/debug menu)
Speed hacks - on
Ignore Fixed colour - off
Ignore windows clipping - on
Ignore Add/Sub modes - off
Ignore Palette writes - off
Fix HiRes hidden details - off

I can't actually see what I've changed here, but I'm sure I changed something :p

Anyway, hope that gives you a small speedup, if you need it to run faster, up the PSP Clockspeed, but generally the FPS should be around 40-60, mines currently on 50.

As said already, some games do run slower, Secret of Mana requires a high frameskip and clockspeed to run at a decent speed, as for Donkey Kong, that seems to work fine for me

Anyway, I hope I've not just gone on and that I've actually given you some good pointers :D
