Because evryone send me massal pm's and emails i decied to share my whole xmb with all of you. because Innercy have full permissions to share the Icons in psp format we can all enjoy them. Orignal comming from Devianart and made by Sérgio Catumba and than Innercy from Qj make the icon to 32 bits psp format. Than i decied to restyle evryhing on the xmb so it's looks perfect with the high ress icons. Sony must take maybe for psp2 new designers ? :p . Anyway enjoy it all ;)

Just do the font space save thing ;). Than you have 2.700 lb free flash0 space and thats enough to flash evrything you whant. Grtzz

Flash all the rco's & 01-12.bmp to flash0/vsh/resource/ here the files. You can do that via USB cable (check readme of your firmware OE). Anyway i have add a little update to the first post, now i have created a Glass Photo Load Icon also ;) . So download here or first post. Grtzz

I have one question.. How did you get the black effects such as 'default_text_focus' "optionmenu_base' and 'line' into the bogus 1.00 file????

Did you hex them in manually? If so.. could you tell where i could locate these 3 effects in the hex editor for both the 2.50 system_plugin and the bogus 1.00 one?

Right now I have to decide to use 2.50 with effect hacks... or bogus 1.00 with xmb sound hacks.

u will find some really big font files just replace with smaller 1's and u will save 2mb 1 is the jpn file the other is gb3s1518.bwfon find the zero replacements and u will have room in your flash for this stuff and keep your pluggins remember to backup your flash b4 u do this stuff cos if u mess it up don't blame me......if i have time i will upload my replacements...

I had same problem.
But i solve it.
you have to use psp_filer to install.
Don't use recovery mode.

ok here u will find font flasho files with 0kb file size thus saving u 2.5mb of flash0 space ........:)

use gameboot redirect so your gameboot runs from ms0:/

then erase the gameboot in flash0 and replace with the 1 in the link i have psosted u should now have save close to 3mb of flash0 space ......:)

I tried reflashing making sure I didn't flash those files to resource and I still had the same problem :(

I went back to the backup I made before I started flashing and the PSP works fine, it simply won't accept the black xmb files :(

use undertaxxx top rco in your flash0 and report back to us what happened then we can help more....:)

and i'm sure i mentioned my font 0kb files are for font folder in flash0 and nowhere else......

Is there tutorials/programs to make something like this? I know how to create a topmenu_plugin.rco that just replaces the first icons but what about the rest, e.g. volume, battery etc? It's just that I'd like to make small improvements to this e.g. the grammar etc, I'm a perfectionist :p

If you just cant use the 01-12.bmp just put it in PSP/PHOTO then use it as a background it still looks the same but without the wave lines...

Hey, v1per, if your using the 0kb files supplied, don't use the jp one. I had the same problem you did and decided to not use the jap one and it worked. Also, once it does boot up you'll be in japanese or something, have fun changing it!

fullres backgrounds only work with 32bit/alternated icon resolutions otherwise you will corrupt some icons.
since 3.10OE can't have those yet, you either have to set it as wallpaper or scale the resolution down... way down ;o

I answered you on the last page. The 01-12.bmp will only work with the topmenu_plugin.rco. With standard topmenu (the only one possible on 3.1OE) you'll see white boxes around some of your icons. Either go back to 3.03 OE or set it as wallpaper.

have the custom icons been fixed yet? (i am reffering to the p-tv icon in particular) as thats almost the only thing left to modify on my psp.
also could the people who load custom waves from there memory stick check something for me? when i use that mod i am unable to load nearly 90% of my homebrew - can anyone else verify this? i would like to know if it was just me (which means i made a mistake) or if its a common bug.

Has anyone been able to get the PS1 emulator to work with the full theme? I know that fonts can kill the PS1 emulator.

When I run the PS1 emulator, it puts up the warning screen and then just hangs.

I'm running 3.03OE-C and I've tried both the native PSP emulator and the 3.02 plugin and neither one work.

Not to plug my own application under someone else's excellent work, but don't forget, because this is a 3.03OE compatible topmenu_plugin.rco, you can customize this even more if you use my RCO Swapper v2 utility to change the menu and submenu names!

Their not mostly my icons but I've hex edited many things. I changed all useless Icons to load up Note pad / file assistant / IR shell / MSN / Recovery menu / Map Viewer. Very clean finish Id say :D

So... I did this and now my PSP wont boot. I can get to recovery mode fine, but otherwise I get an empty black screen for a few seconds then it just shuts down. :(

I think it had something to do with the font flashing in flash0 but I don't know what I did wrong I guess.

but now the 1-12 bmp bg doesnt work on my 3.03 C although i did use the top rco in the package. It only shows a white screen.

WoW This is amazing I finally have it all unique and stuff, I even replace the actions of every xmb Icon, I've even replaced the regular psp video player so that it loads up the latest pmpmod instead. This is fantastic!

I don't recall ever having this problem before. I'm using 3.03OE-C, I just added custom icons to my xmb as well as having flashed a gameboot (which works fine otherwise)
now it plays the gameboot but the wallpaper stays and doesn't go until the game actually boots up.

if u have not done this then if u go to your font folder in your flash0
u will find some really big font files just replace with smaller 1's and u will save 2mb 1 is the jpn file the other is gb3s1518.bwfon find the zero replacements and u will have room in your flash for this stuff and keep your pluggins remember to backup your flash b4 u do this stuff cos if u mess it up don't blame me......if i have time i will upload my replacements...

All you need to do is go into your theme settings and change it from Default background to the first option. I had the same problem.

i am sorry for the people who had semi brick with font hack which saves u 2.5mb flash0 space so u can modify your custom firmware and not run into the no space in flash0 problem .......
i do not understand how that happened cos i have used this method for quite awhile and so have many people it is a old hack.....
i can only think it must be some kind of motherboard or a new problem with the 3.03 downgrade where some files get left in the flash.....so u will have to switch between the 0 files to see which 1 works better for u if u have a problem with using both again sorry for any semi bricks thank god for recovery mode...:)

Has anyone been able to get the PS1 emulator to work with the full theme? I know that fonts can kill the PS1 emulator.

When I run the PS1 emulator, it puts up the warning screen and then just hangs.

I'm running 3.03OE-C and I've tried both the native PSP emulator and the 3.02 plugin and neither one work.

Nevermind, I got it work.

Me being the moron that I am, I forgot I had the 3.11 Popsloader installed and that was killing the emulator.

ok have started from scratch (down to 1.5 then backup to 3.03oe-c)

1st thing I do is flash the top_menu with PSPFiler , that works ok .

Then I use PSPFiler to flash 1-12.bmp, appears to work ok , then I restart my PSP , white background. So I try setting the Theme as above and Wallpaper is set to 'Do Not Use'. Nada , still white background. Can anyone make any suggestions to where I'm going wrong

Ok managed to resolve the issue. I had a look in flash0 and the file 1-12.bmp wasn't there , copied it across via USB/flash 0 access in recovery menu et voila background is now there !

its actually not really 32bit. its just 32bit with alpha channel but the colors are still limited to 256 colors (8bit)

while trying to work out why the font hack did not work for some people, I have discovered that certain prx's - if they are enabled - in the seplugins folder causes the psp to crash in xmb mode. i.e if ir mp3 prx is enabled and you have your network update hacked to launch another prx, then xmb will not respond. So, you will have to disable ir mp3 prx to enable any modified xmb functions to work. I suspect that since many of you have usb host prx enabled in seplugins folder, that this is also causing problems, so you will have to basically set up your seplugins according to how you use your psp, i.e. if you are not using usb host then disable it so that you may regain the hacked capabilities of the xmb functions.

you crediting yourself way too much therefore the people who really should get the credit are simply overlooked

don't call it a release because the word "release" emphasize that you did something yourself but you didn't

After a few half-bricks, downgrading from 3.10 OE-A' to 1.5 and upgrading to 3.03OE-C I managed to install this black XMB theme (BTW. after 1.5 downgrade at the first boot I get the blue screen, I thought I've bricked it for good... but it's ok now...). I also changed the gameboot.pmf (thx No Name Trowa B!) and a opening_plugin.rco (boot sound). Everything runs just fine :)
@undertaxxx: After installing black XMB i didn't see texts like "HDD 4gig" or that one on the opening screen "Welcome untertaxxx" or sth like that... Should it be visible? And the main question... How to edit those texts??

well u can find some1 who posted all the files that were origionaly on ur psp b4 u did this theme * unless u backed em up*, all u do is hold the R button when the psp is loading IF U GOT 3.03 OE-C or higher, once there go into the advanced tab and pick USB Flash0 and ull be usb'd to ur flash0 then go into vsh/resources/ and copy all ur origional files and u should be back to normal. if u need the files and no 1 posted em pm me. For fonts its in the main folder labled font.

Seriously there should be some good specific instructions with this. I'm normally good with this kinda stuff but it's semi-bricked my PSP now. I was shitting bricks a moment ago because I thought I'd lost the Recovery Mode as well. Luckily I hadn't and I'm going to try to recover to 1.5.

Does anyone know if Lumines II will work with this.

Whenever I try to run it on my PSP with this installed, the game crashes at the loading screen.

I tried it on a fresh 3.03 OE-C PSP (which I then bricked a few minutes later:mad:) and it worked fine.

I'm reinstalling 3.03 OE-C and I'm going to work with it some more.

The game worked fine after I reinstalled 3.03OE-C. I then just replaced the top_menu.rco fine and 1-12.bmp file and it quit working again, so the problem is with the theme.

anybody notice that if you go to memory stick and information, it doesnt show the MAGIC GATE SUPPORTED. anybody know why? im sure my memory stick isnt the problem cuz before i installed this theme it was showing..

It is because of the topmenu_plugin.rco comes from a 2.5 (maybe 2.6) PSP and sony added this feature later!

nvm, the battery bar works now...at 60% + the bar shows full, at 60 or 59% the bar will change.

Everything but the topmenu_plugin.rco and some people have had problems with the 01-12.bmp so you can experiement with the 01-12.bmp otherwise everything else is fine

thizz theme iss so nice, I installes it and i have no pr0bs ;).The only thing, I used No Name Trowa B´s gameboot.pmf and it looks cool, too.But the only "PSP" branding suxx a little bit.gives a way to remove the original Sony "PSP" branding in the gameboot.pmf ???

and followed the instructions. However, when I noticed that the Black XMB already has these files pre-made I wasnt sure what to do. Right now I am in the Flash 0 usb mode from the Recovery menu // Advanced... and looking at the VSH >> Resource folder with the files that I assume are to replaced via drag and drop.


Can anyone confirm this so I dont brick my PSP? Do I simply drag and drop the Black XMB .rco's in here and replace the old ones?

When I set to German Language some Sys-informations are not displayed, for example: When I go to USB and have no USB-cable plugged, there is only the "O" sign, but no error message like "please connect your USB Cable".

...No bugs but, how can I remove the PSP brand from the gameboot.pmf, and how can I change the Text from the Icons like "HDD 4 GiG" mine shows me "Memory Stick blabla" ?

As I said, I have tried EVERYTHING. Maybe I didn't make myself clear on that.. I've read through everything written here, and it still didn't work. Anyway, I fixed it after overwriting the same file 10 times.. Don't know why, but it worked..

To all of you who don't understand how to install, this helped me with backing up flash0 and writing the files to flash:

thx Zen, I try it with Flash Agent, but it dont work because my opnening_plugin.rco iss relinked in my game_plugin.prx to 0pening_plugin.rco.I renamed the 0pening_plugin.rco back to opnening_plugin.rco, and after that I use the debrand function off FlashAgent.After I debrand the opnening_plugin.rco I renamed it back to 0pnening_plugin.rco, for the game_plugin_prx hack to make let PSX games working.
And now it works, without the fucking "Sony" branding and working PSX emu ;)
