Help with Upgrading

Hi guys. Its been a while since my last firmware update. I got 2.71 SE-C back when it came out and have been using it ever since. I had considered updating to 3.01 or something like that when it came out from DA but the No UMD compatability was a turn off for me.

Now I have played out my PSP games that I wanted to and am ready to put PS1 games on my PSP. My question is whats the best way (safest and easiest) way to get there?

I want to go with the best ps1 emulation and best no umd compatability that I can get. If anyone can tell me what FW that would be? I will be playing mostly RPGS on it from square and the like. Im guessin the new 3.10 from DA is the way to go.

Anywho if anyone can link me to the best place to get the firmware and tell me the safest way to get it working that would be super.

Also does popstation have a GUI now? I would like it to at least have a PS1 game launching Interface and maybe its skinnable?

I will make a update to 3.03OE-C not to 3.1OE-A, because on the 3.1OE-A you cant swap XMB icons, then the PSX games will not work. On 3.03OE-C its better, im using it now and im very happy.

Are you saying that I cant change the games icons in 3.10 OE or they wont work? Im assuming you are talking about the little icons that you see when you goto the games area of the MS.

While I would like to make custome icons for the games does 3.10 have better pops compatability over 3.03?

he is talking about the icons on the xmb menu ie settings photo music video game and network if you dont want to change the icons go for 3.10OE-A then do the little upgrade to 3.10OE-A'

Yes you right, Im saying that you can swap normal XMB icons for custom once, but then when you will do it the PSX games emulation is not working!

im sorry to be keep asking questions but in your last post you say the little update is for 3.01 OE-A? Im assuming its a typo and you ment 3.10?

Also I dont care abou the sony icons. The only icons I care about are the ones you see for each game when you go into the Games area of the MS. You know how psp games each have a icon for the game and some play music and stuff in the background. Those icons are all I care about. I dont want to mess with XMB icon things.

yea was a typo the little up date fixes a bug in 3.10OE-A that stopped some games working you can update from any of the custom fw versions but you need to install 3.10OE-A before the little update

3.03OE-C is only better if you want to change the xmb icons as it cant be done on any of the higher fw versions

from what i have read on this site you can do that on 3.10OE-A

the only thing you cant change is the topmenu_plugin
