Its a transportation thing. I dont have my box here but in another city and there is no computer there so I need to fill my usb drive, take it there and connect it to the xbox, if possible.

it wont work....as far as I know cause I connected my 80g external just to see and the message in xbmc(my dash) was um-- UNABLE TO MOUNT MEMORY UNIT IN SLOT 2. I would just recommend getting a larger hard drive cause you can get a 250g(what I have) for about $105.00
peace and happy gaming:D

Did you make sure the drive was FAT32?
I got the same message with a usb-stick which had NTFS. After I converted it to FAt32 it worked on my xbox.
Could you try this? I'd like to know if it works.
