I received my Qoob Pro & wired everything as described in the instruction manual, and assembled everything into the case. At that time I hooked it up to try it out. When the cube was energized, the unit started, the fan spins, the drive light lit, and the qoob led lit up, but the screen stayed black. After checking the connections on the qoob and getting the same results, I disconnected the qoob from the harness and reconnected the lid switch. At that point, the cube booted to the normal gamecube screen and was back to its original operating state. I then decided I'd try connecting the qoob to the computer for the first time, and flash the new bios to it. When I connected the chip to the computer, it was identified properly and the flash program connected to the chip, but all slots showed as free - as if there was no bios in the chip. I then attempted to write the bios into the first slot. It acted like it loaded, but when I went to exit the flash utility, a pop-up appeared stating that there was no bios loaded, and that no boot is possible. I tried loading the bios into each slot on the chip, but the same thing happened each time. Ive tried different loaders & bios's (v1.3c, gcos and used flash 1.3 rev 1 & 1.3 hacked). I contacted the qoob supplier, since I'm suspecting a bad chip at this point, and they directed me here to see if anyone has a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.

when flashing the bios, select "write" and then the file, and then isntead of select "slot1", select "bios" button.

I tried that, but it continues to act as if nothing is there. It connects to the qoob, reports status OK, acts like the bios is writing, but when it finishes, the slot is still empty, and warns that there is no bios when exiting. I got an rma from my vendor, so I'll be trying a new one soon. I'll post if I have success with it. Thanks.

I had the same issue when I got my Qoob... I booted it, I saw a green light (which means all is good) but nothing booted.. only black screen...

I connected the Qoob USB to my computer and ran the flasher, and found my entire chip empty.. I flashed a BIOS into the first slot on the top-left corner (as ONLY the booting bios is supposed to be there) and it booted!!!

If none of the Qoob Bios' work... for some strange reason... try GCOS1.5F in the first block... it even that doesn't work... dunno what to do then.. especially if the light is green... at that point it could be that something is snagging inside your machine, that you're unaware of.. that's all the ideas I have..?
