I am just converting my old FF IX disks to eboot's & would like to know the best setup to play this great title on the PSP.
I am using level 9 compression, with the same GameTitle & GameIDs for each of the 4 disks. The game is NTSC.
My PSP is running 3.03OE-C - is it better to use DaXs 3.02 POPS Plugin or the 3.01 hex-edited plugin?

Thanks !

From my experience, 3.02=3.03 when it comes to compatability with this game... I made it all the way up to Memoria on Disc 4 without ANY crash (unlike most Square games on POPS), with only minimal slowdown in highly populated towns (Compression doesn't make a difference)...

However, make sure your disc doesn't have scratches (or at least minimal scratches), otherwise the sound might get screwy...

Ah - thanks for that heads-up :)
I started off with the 3.03 POPS & the game crashed near the beginning (!)
Then installed the 3.02 POPS & its behaved itself for the last hour :)
Similiar to FF7 where 3.02 was much better.

I really like this game - 4 members in your party -woo! Has a similiar feel to FF3 on the NDS with cute characters & a slightly goofy story.
How long is this game roughly ?

I had forgotten how good this FF was :) They even cadged music from it for FF3 NDS :D

If it crashed with 3.03 you probably have a bad dump... Mine worked perfectly using 3.03 and ISObuster (bin/cue)... You might want to re-dump, it might cause problems later on in the game

Just a shot in the dark here i did have a few games that did crash on 3.02 or was it 3.01 it manged to sort itself out non 3.03 oe-c. So what i am saying the new firmware will be out and this will be a maybe good chance for it not to crash.

Yes good point - I am about 5 hr's in with no prob's so far - I'll check ebay if the game has as many crashes as FF8 did. 2 of my disks were scratched so I'm slightly nervous ...

Hey - with the new FW 3.10 can we use psardumper to dump out the 4 POPS files & then use that hex-edit approach to get POPS working w the OE firmwares ?
Right tried it but new 3.10 FW has no meaudio.prx - can modify DaXs 302 plugin ok but new 3.10 files don't load up PSX games - unsurprisingly :p

Wo! - the new 3.10 FW has a F0\Kd\'msaudio.prx' @17KB (like the 3.03 FW) - I hex-edited this into DaXs 'pops310ld.prx' loader, enabled the plugin & the game loaded & I can access my saves (!)

would you be able to upload the 3.10 plugin or instructions on how to make it?

Hey, is anybody else having problems with cutscenes? The game seems to glitch up during cutscenes.

glitches in cutscenes can also mean, that your images are a bad dump ( mine were when i played it on da real psx)
