Appreciation to "Deturbanator" for getting me started with his template.

I like this one better than the Bio Hazzard for some reason, all though it wasn't as difficult to create. (I imagine that's because it isn't circular, which was tough on the transparancy situation with the 8-bit restrictions.)

Anyway, it's a 3D triangular shaped Asian theme, using icons that i made myself.

I attached the font and background to my first post.

I recommend the font even to those that aren't interested in the rest of the theme. It's one of the few that doesn't mess up the psx emu or browser.

Only thing that would make this better would be to still retain the icon fading that all the other icons still have, looks more genuine.

X-flash has lots of checks to make sure you are using the correct version for your firmware. You probably downloaded an older release. I think the latest is 18k.

Nope there is no way to preview on the PSP unfortunately. For X-flash the only way is to copy the file to the "Modified" folder inside the X-flash directories (it can only use one font at a time). I prefer to use psp filer to do it manually, it's a lot quicker.

Parental control has to be off. If the registry files don't match then I guess they are from an earlier firmware and you'll have to delete them and re-enter your settings.

I've never used X-flash to do it so you will have to check the readme for that. If you are familiar with PSP Filer then you can manually copy the topmenu_plugin.rco to flash0:/vsh/resource and overwrite the default one.

Has anyone tried this?I use the xmbPackager and the guy who made it has already renamed the dat files to some other name probably for some reason(maybe not to mess with these when create the topmenu_plugin?).This rar contains these dats.Is there any chance to brick the psp from the genarated topmenu_plugin or should i replace them safely?

*EDIT* never mind,i found the original app updated that comes with this fix and now my psp looks perfect.

I get a BSoD everytime I run the font program (after I shut down PSP) then when I continue the fonts not there >_>

The labels for Network Update and Certificate Utility have been changed to Reboot PSP and Start USB Host. To get the functionality you will need to replace the appropriate prx's.

I use X-Flash, it works fine on mine. FYI, mine is custom topmenu too. Anyway, I put them in the "Modified" folder in X-Flash. And choose, item no. 5 to replace background picture. Just make sure they're in 60x34 dimension (well, to get the wavy lines working).

and wallpaper (page 4) and icons are by devok.
You Will need to rename the PRX's included as follows...

capture.prx = lftv_plugin.prx
b.c.prx = license_plugin.prx
irsmp3.prx = camera_plugin.prx
reboot.prx = update_plugin.prx <==(no need to change name,
already done 4 you)

Then you will need to Flash the PRX's and the provided topmenu_plugin.rco
to the correct places in flash0 (I used Filer for this).
DON'T ASK WHERE TO PUT THEM OR HOW TO DO THIS, if you don't know how
already then avoid doing this for the safety of your PSP. If you want to
learn how, use the search bar or google they are your friends!

For the mp3 mod i changed the controls on mine. Instead of using the note
button i changed it to select.I did this so it wouldn't trigger the
screenshot/video mod when using mp3 mod. You can edit the mp3conf.txt
for this,then save it in seplugins folder.

P.S. As you can see from the screenshots the SVC capture doesn't work 100% but a few lines don't really bother me

EDIT P.P.S I just realised it's a good idea to edit capture.ini to disable
overwriting. If anyone knows how to cure the strange lines in shot pls let me know ;)

I got me icons and the rest to work but i am having problem Changing the Network update to Reboot/Shutdown i tried hex editor but i don't know how to change it. Then you will need to Flash the PRX's and the provided topmenu_plugin.rco
to the correct places in flash0 (I used Filer for this).
DON'T ASK WHERE TO PUT THEM OR HOW TO DO THIS, if you don't know how
already then avoid doing this for the safety of your PSP. If you want to
learn how, use the search bar or google they are your friends!

For the mp3 mod i changed the controls on mine. Instead of using the note
button i changed it to select.I did this so it wouldn't trigger the
screenshot/video mod when using mp3 mod. You can edit the mp3conf.txt
for this,then save it in seplugins folder.

P.S. As you can see from the screenshots the SVC capture doesn't work 100% but a few lines don't really bother me

EDIT P.P.S I just realised it's a good idea to edit capture.ini to disable
overwriting. If anyone knows how to cure the strange lines in shot pls let me know ;)

Is that small black dot on the top left corner of the "photo" icon there for a reason? Or can it be edited out?
It's not actually on the icon bmp so it is not possible to just edit it out. I figured it was an artifact caused by the XMB not liking icons that get too close to the full 64x64, but any kind of editing to reduce the width results in a huge black bar across the top. If I can find the original icon I might go back and try again at some point but for now I've just learned to live with it.

sorry if the answer to this question is already answered (I've searched for a while), but I heard that using plugin's and "customising" the firmware (editing the xmb :) ) can result in a brick if you update it to a higher firmware, is that really true?
as far as I know the update eboot first always format the flash0... so customizing the firmware shouldnt be a problem right?

The internet icon is twice as big as the default one so that could mean something.

EDIT: Well I think it was 24bit colour instead of 8bit. Try the attached one.

Just tried it, but aparantly.."the game could not be started (8002014E)"..mh, it worked flawlessly with enabling usbmount_vsh.prx in the recovery menu as well...

To make it easy, if you look you can find an easy downgrader for 1.0, run the exe copy the files any place (your not going to downgrade so someplace on you PC is fine) and use PSP Filer to flash them. Yes it works on OE-C too.

Here is my custom XMB, nothing really flashy. The background is just a standard Gears wallpaper, using the toon icons found in the Custom XMB Icon Packager but I made the font myself, Chinese Takeaway! :D

ok i have not tried doing this till today and have changed the top menu icons ok and changed the network update so it reboots the psp but i want to change the text from network update to reboot psp what program do i use to edit the text :confused: :confused: thanks


EDIT ok i have done it

it was easier than i thought it would be when i found the bit that needed changing never done any thing like that before was just hoping it worked and it did:D :D

i've a big problem.....i use a custom topmenuplugin to have ITALIAN language and the right descriptions of all the menu option. Then there is a little edit in the file and i don't know how to change my subicons....Is possible to have a topmenu like moWw to change the subicons and don't lose the italian language??? Please post it or let me know how mod my topmenu myself...thx!

i still havent been able to find the web address for p-tv in any of the html files.
edit: p-tv was added in 2.00 right? so it should be within the htmlviewer_plugin.prx. unless for some reason the address is located somewhere else. im surprised it doesnt work the same way as the online manuals. although you can notice that p-tv doesnt allow you to use the netfront gui like the online manuals do.

go into recovery mode, choose advance, then toggle USB for flash0. find the topmenu_plugin.rco and ltn0.pgf in one of those folders then replace them with new ones that you like.

BTW,im also using theme by c9ne. including the wallpaper
