360 HD swap. Would this work?

A friend of mine corrupted the data on his Hard drive and had to reformat it, therefore losing all his games saves (he's not happy especially as he put some hours into call of duty 3).

I was wondering if it would be possible to boot call of duty 3 and use my HDD on his 360 to load my call of duty 3 game save (nearly finished story mode), then hot swap to his HDD in game and save onto his HDD. Anyone think this might work or do we run the risk of corrupting both HDD.

Any thoughts or opinions would be helpful before I take the plunge.

I'd bet that doesn't work because your save games are linked to your gamertag.

pretty sure it won't work as, as soon as the hard drive is removed the xbox resets itself....
