Flashed my hitachi with the maximus tool box. backups wont boot! using a NEC 3530A and Verbatim at 2x. Wasted 5 discs already (thats over £10!). anyone had luck with this burner or should i just buy a pioneer 111d?
also could it be that im an idiot doing something completley stupid?
im stuck!
help a noob in need!

you should goggle;
nec and hitachi xbox360 and see what you can find.
i aint been in the compatabilty thread for a while but,its near the top of this forum try there and see what peoples saying.
off top of my head i cant remember seeing anyone who has hitachi with nec burner getting good results.
so,i would have to say buy a pioneer 111d and save your disc's till then.
remember you have to make sure the drive is biset/bookmarked to support dvd-rom.if you havn't do!to find out then google how to bookmark/biset dvd-rom for burner and see what results you get.
still i think even if you bookmarked the drive you wont get bootable copies for hitachi drive.

Bigest advantage of the pioneer drive is that it sets the bitsetting automatically. Never burned a non-working backup with my DVR-109 drive :)

I had the NEC 3540 , i had to flash my NEC with another firmware. that should do the job.

ordered a pioneer 111d @ svp.co.uk for £25 delivered.

thats exactly ur problem matey... i had a NEC 3520... burned a game for a mate... even on verbs.. did naff all.... soon as i put me pioneer 111d in i could write to cheap crap an it would work

well my pioneer should be here tomorow morning!
ill give it another shot!
UPDATE: Pioneer came today, games now play perfectly
