When 302-OEA came out I tried some PS1 games. At first none of the games worked. So I started a topic on this board: http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=40410
All (popstation & sony store) games work now, but they take 30+ minutes to start. I gave up and thought it would be best to wait for Dark Alex to release a new firmware version that might work better on my PSP.
This week he released 303-OEA. I've just installed it, but games still take ages to start. Does anyone else have the same problem? And how can it be solved?

I tried 2 memorysticks. A 1GB Sony PSP MS pro duo that came with my PSP (Gigapack). The other is a 2GB Sony MS pro duo. They can't be the problem.

the games do NOT take half an hour to boot i can assure you ;) something else you're doing wrong. use alcohol 120% to make ccd isos (use the img file) and use psx2psp to convert them.

Even Hot Shots Golf 2 takes that long to start. If that game doesn't work right, the games which are made with popstation (using hot shots golf 2) have the same problem.

Yes, the folder can be called anything, as long as the name isn't too long. I put mine in GAME along with demos to keep it separate from homebrew... just an organizational thing, it's not required.
Some games don't work with the Sony emu... check the POPStation compatibility thread in the other forum. It's a sticky, so it'll be at the top. If a game DOES work, it starts almost instantly. It shouldn't even take a single minute to start up... unless you use a SLOW memstick and set the compression to 9. Then it may take a while. ;) Don't like how slow it is? Quit buying slow sticks and using heavy compression.

Actually, it is required.
PS1 games must go in the GAME folder or they won't work.
jerzmob, make sure you have the eboot.pbp and keys.bin in the same directory (named anything as long as the name is short) inside the GAME directory and it will work.

Well, then I'm certainly glad I decided to put them there instead of GAME303. :D

Tried games with different keys.bin files. Both games take 30+ minutes to start. Those games are good. Something seems to go wrong when my PSP tries to start the PS1 emulator (?pops.prx?). It just keeps trying until the emu starts.

If you have any other stuff in your PSP, like custom PRXs, remove them and see if it still has a problem. At worst, do a clean downgrade to 1.50, then back to 3.03 OE-A, putting NOTHING else on the PSP and see what it does.

You probably also read my other thread ;)
That thread has become a off topic discussion about iso tools.
