you have to start the dos prompt (u find it in programs -> utilities (dont know how its named in english - i'm using the german version)
and go to the disc and folder where the psul file is situated.
for example: if your psul.exe is on d:\gamecube\tools
you'll have to type
d: [return]
then you are on your d-drive
to access the folder type
cd gamecube\tools [return]
now type
psul -s [return]
and psul will wait until it is able to connect to your gc

you can't just run psul alone, im sure you know that, but what loader are you using?

what im trying to do is this part of maxconsole tutorial.

Saving Hunter Guild information:
=============

Lets assume you have all the files needed for this tutorial as well as your games and or homebrew apps in the following directory (c:\gc) Open up a windows command Prompt by typing cmd.exe in the run box. To change into the directory type "cd gc" and press enter. Next type "psul.exe -s"

Now on PSO choose the Online Game option at the title screen. Follow the onscreen directions and create your character. After you have created your character and saved it to the mem card and the game asks if you agree to the user terms say yes. The game will begin to load and you will see a warp hole type screen. At this point the game is initializing the Gamecube BBA for connection and you should pay attention to your command prompt screen .

this is what im stuck on.i see the warphole then i get an error message every time

are you sure you got a CROSSOVER cable? they look almost exactly like the regular cables..

5ml, also check your Network Card in Network Connections and see if it's getting a transfer, if it's not getting transfers or a Connection then my guess would be that your problem is with the cable, make sure you have a cross-over cable if your going directly, you'll only need to use a straight-through if your using a router, for more information visit http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/broadbandnetworking/10_concept_cabling.mspx for a great faq

If the cable isn't the problem then your BBA might be defective. that happened to me i bought a new BBA from Gamestop, but i found out that the BBA was defective because i used my friend's BBA and it worked. After some thinking, i tried buying another BBA but this time i purchased it in store.nintendo and it now works normally, but let's hope that is not your problem
