new popstation wont work for me

ok so im trying out popstation for 3.03,and it wont run, itopens up and closes automatically, i have cygwin1.dll that caame withit and also that other file. but it dont seem to work, anyone please help!

its not a gui u need to go in CMD and type in the code there to compress ur game

if you are using the command line thing as you call it what is opening and closing

what are you typing in at the command line to run the prog

That means you are trying to open the command line by double clicking on popstation.exe, right? Because that is not how you open the command prompt. Go to "Run" and type "cmd" without quotes, or go into "All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt".

This is the error I get.

I put the cygwin1.dll and cygz.dll in the windows system32 directory AND they're in the popstation directory as well (just in case).

Can anyone figure out what's going on?

Hi there i've just had the same problem as you. with the popstation closing down all the time. I solved my problem by renaming cygwin1.dll to cygwin1.bak. It seems for some strange reason my system does not like cygwin1.dll in the popstation folder maybe yours is the same.

Am I supposed to write "cd E:\popstation" then enter and after that "E:\popstation\popstation.exe "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night" SLUS00063 9 Castlevania.iso

Is that correct? Can't somebody just make a .bat file for me to use like I had with the previous POPS? ^^

It doesn't seem to like any gaps in the title. Try calling it ¨Castlevania¨ instead of ¨Castlevania - Symphony of the Night¨ and see if that works for you.

What you have to do is instead of just writing "castlevania.bin", write the whole path, "c:\the_folder_where_my_game_is\castlevania.bin" without the quotes...

The first line just points the cmd prompt to the directory it's in, the second line starts after the > in my image and goes,

'popstation.exe Name Code Compression Name.iso/img/bin

some BASIC explanations:
when you do start -> run -> cmd you enter a dosbox.
from there you give MANUAL commands. cd = change dir etc.
so yes, do cd blah\whatever\popstationfolder ENTER
then the next line :P

I have all my files in there including my GranTurismo2.iso

Can some one help me through this?

are you running psphost or something else on your pc that uses cygwin.dll? if you are just turn psphost or whatever off it worked for me but you need cygwin.dll in the system 32 folder

I had PSP Video 9, I'll uninstall it but how do I check what programs are using the cygwin.ll?

These are the programs I have running in the task manager.

Any of them use cygwin.dll?

do a search in windows for cygwin1.dll you should be able to see which progs that use it.I just happened to know that psphost does and when i turn it off i no longer get the error that you have been getting, make sure you have cygwin1.dll in C:\windows\system or C:\windows\system32 (im not sure which so i put them in both) also you will need it in the popstation folder along with the cygz.dll, hope that solves it for you
