Bioshock No Longer PC & Xbox 360 Exclusive - Heading to PS3!

The latest issue of OPM (UK) reveals that Bioshock is most certainly heading to the PS3.

Seriously though people need to stop bashing ps3 for their "exclusives"

Devs are going to release the span of consoles because guess what... they will make more money... and thats what video games are all about... money.

ahh christ. I wish gaming companies like sony and nintendo would actually live up to their "We're trying to make gaming better for the average person." and merge all their companies.

Though it will probably never happen, it'd be something if nintendo, sony and microsoft all make the 8th generation system together. Then we wouldn't be making a big deal over exclusive titles and spending 1200$ on three systems.

Though it's been tried before and didn't work. Remember the 3do? didn't think you did. That's because they tried to become the industry standard and have all developers work only for them in an effort to end exclusive titles and multible systems that do essentially the same thing.

And it failed horribly.

i remember the 3DO, i purchased the Panasonic FZ-1 Mulitplayer when it first came out and it cost me $600 back in '93 (i think it was '93), it retailed for $650 and i talked the guy in the electronics store down to $600, but man did i enjoy crash 'n' burn and the other games back then. now it sits in my closet in the box, but now i have every game for it burned on cd-r and i break it out every once in awhile along with my trusty old Vectrex system.

well i was looking forward to bioshock being 360 only, but since i have a PS3 also now, it doesn't matter what system it comes out on. Gears of War was the best 10+ hours of gaming it took me to finish it, can't wait for GOW2.

wow. As a 360 lover, Bioshock was a major feather in my off-white cap. Wonder if any other 3rd party 360 "exclusives" aren't so much anymore.

Yeah money, Ms wasn't interested enough in this game to offer the devs a candy for exclusivity, me and about 90% of gamers arent interested either.

Very stupid wish if you ask me, its competition that gives us better consoles every 5 years, atari was a monopoly once, almost killed video game market until Nintendo came.

That's an interesting development to this story. Posted May 18, meaning that the article was likely sent to the printers late April (8 months ago) at the earliest. Still, PS3 development was started for this game at least, so it may just be a timed exclusive. Or perhaps the developers are waiting for the PS3 market to grow to a large enough size first.

But really, this would be pretty cool news. Bioshock is perfect for multiplatform. But if PS3 gets it, that may be bad. Then the PS3 may start being seen as a FPS console. :rolleyes:

That was a fake scan proven back when it originally got posted back in may. Months later microsoft made an announcement that 2k games will be bringing it to the 360 and pc first. This means it may come to the ps3 down the line but not until after a good 6 or more months on the 360

You do realize you were just owned by the truth. You are fanboyisnm at it's most prominent. The company that has been losing exclusives is Sony. Journalists in the gaming community have remarked on this fact and analysts have pointed to it as one of the reasons Sony is in decline. They can't keep exclusives.

You can stick your head under a rock if you like but those are the facts. There isn't an objective person on this board that won't tell you the truth. MS has done a much better job of courting developers. Whether it's GTA, Assassin's Creed, RE, VF, or any other project MS has demonstrated remarkable adaptation and flair in securing cooperation from publishers.

And now that word of Namco bringing a major PS3 exclusive to the 360 has begun to surface, you might as well prepare for an aneurysm.

Devs make money regardless. They are salaried employees. It is the financiers - usually the publishers - that either gain or lose money. A company cannot spend 20 + million dollars and expect to make a profit on 200,000 copies of a game. They also look at how much they COULD make by bringing it to another platform. As sales of the PS3 continue to flag, the trend is going to continue.

I saw this on a tip from a reader and also noticed it was quite high on Digg and on initial research, found PS3 pages for the game on all the major game sites. So, I posted an article about it. Thats right, they got it wrong and its an exclusive to XBOX 360 and PC
