PS3 Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is a Worthy Gift

Sony's end of year Tekken 5 gift for PS3 owners is a welcomed surprise, at least according to 'console of the year' awarders IGN. For $20 it has everything you could want from the series and a little more.



Are there any other bonuses that have been included? Not really, but what can you expect from a $20 purchase? The game has been visually upgraded and looks leagues better than the arcade version, and it's arcade perfect as far as character balance goes. Although only those with Japanese credit cards can purchase the game, an international release shouldn't be too far away, since it's assumed that Namco wants this game out before Sega's Virtua Fighter 5 hits stores in February. Keep checking your local PlayStation Store, just in case Dark Resurrection makes a surprise appearance just like it did in Japan.

Thats true, good graphics alone dont make a good game. Tekken is a good fighter.

BTW, if you get a Hong Kong account for PlayStation Network, European credit cards will work. I aint so sure about U.S but give it a try.

Should have been a PS2 game, still should be a PS2 game. Oh well at least there is a home console version of the best version of tekken, just a pity it's on a console where the least people will get to benefit from it. Tho I guess the PS3 needs at least 1 decent title on it before the year is out ;)

Oh well back to finding people with PSP's so I can give em a pasting with my goth girl version of Lilly, that is unless namco see sense and release it for the PS2 as well as a final tekken for the console (i'd buy it no questions asked) :D

The best may have come out a year later, but there were plenty of good games out prior to that. If anything, Gears of war is just proof that games for the 360 are just getting better :p .

Hopefully the PS3 will improve, I have no doubt it will, but given that it's currently suffering from "S for Suckage" :D the only way it can go is up.

System is 2 months old. Give it time people .360 didnt have that much when it cam out over ayear ago and yet. We paid 50 bucks for it a year. So people give it time. Itsa new system. People just dont have patience any more.

IMO, I personally don't subscribe to the whole pay-for-play digital-content when you aren't able to make a viable backup. There should be some way to back it up in case you move to an area without highspeed access; e.g., dial-up (uggh!) and need to re-acquire the install package. The devil's advocate might say you wouldn't need a backup as long as you don't remove the game from your system, but I'd state that I've seen too many HDD's crap out to trust one in a console system. Sony won't be sending you a new drive already loaded with all the stuff you've paid for through the PSX Store.

This should be on the shelf for 20 bucks!

sweet! Thanks for the tip, I wasn't aware you could back up the d/l to external media. Taking this one step further, you could then burn what you have on the ms to CD/DVD and have a more permanent backup.
