Here is a default template for the pic0.png or unknown.png, originally created by Ooops, this gives a gray semi-transparent box that you can edit to put text on with the funny ERSB mock by Ooops.

Read the guidelines tip ;) Anyway you can convert it to an indexed GIF and than back to PNG....great size reduction and not big loss of quality for a psp screen

man this is so confusin..why do ppls say different things?i thought the icon image is supposed to be 144x80?? anyways my PIC0/unknown image is always too big!how do i fix this?i always convert it to 310x180 and the top of the the PIC0 is always a little higher than this example!!!its supposed to be even on the x-axis of the icon but i dont know how to fix it.

has anyone tried making a lunar2 eboot with these custom pics? and if so have you made a successful eboot! because for some reason when i use these pics, popstation gui wont make an eboot...when i click convert after picking one of my bin psx files the command screen comes up for like a slit second then dissappear. and my eboot of course is 0kb. i renamed the pics correct, icon0.png(144x80) or 134x74, and pic1.png(480x272) but they dont seem to work in the popstation. has anyone got a working eboot with these pics? if so how did it work for you? i already have cvsotn and suikoden2 on my psp with the correct icons for them as well. any help please?!:confused:

ok this is crazy. i made a successful eboot with these icons for lunar2,3 actually for the 3 discs,and not a problem.popstation did its thing and it works. i dont get why the other one didnt work. they both are the same size as the other one that didnt work,so WTF is going on? i really wanted to use both to have different ones for each disc,so i have no clue as to why the first set didnt make a successful eboot but the second set did. am i missing something here? am i doing anything wrong? let me know please. thanks:confused:

I wrote a quick tip for this problem in the guidelines (first post of this thread where you can find a lot of good answers ;) )

Anyway the quickest way for you is to convert it to an indexed format and than back to rgb and save as PNG (In photoshop: Alt+I -> M -> I -> [Local adaptive, 256,Diffusion,75%] -> Ok -> Alt+I -> M -> R -> Alt+L -> F -> Ctrl+S ) *grin*

I checked the bit depth for my pic1 as well as the one made by Aztec123 and noticed that his is set to 32 bits and mine is 24 bits. Whether this is the cause of your problem I don't know and I can't test it since I don't have the iso for that game. I'd say try changing the bit depth on the none working image to 24 bits and see if that works.

It makes png files smaller. It made that one (one I changed for you), from 315 --> 271kb with no quality loss.

I dont recommend using it for transparent images though, it wont work..

Well, I figure it's easier to sort by game.. But what I meant was sorted into games, then each game has an album for each author. You CAN search for a particular author - and once I get user submissions sorted out, it'll be even easier.

Are you absolutly sure that folder tree javascript navigation will stand 500+ submissions with an average of 3 or 4 authors per first level folder? :D

Moreover you lost something....how do you deal with animated icons and with sound files and with multiple images in the same package?

My first idea was to build a website to collect them but it would have lost the way it was born: everyone is trying to make their EBOOTs and they do need theese images to change the (in)famous HotShotsGolf2 pics so only the way a forum works allows you to post a request and have it fullfilled in a few minutes.....and....last but not least....I tought it wasn't fair to get others' work to build my own website: it had to stay were it was born. It belongs to the MC community. That's why i went for an index thread.

I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I whipped up an overlay you can add to your PIC1.png files. I used Gimp to create it (just learning the program, so be nice :)), and left the majority of the image transparent, minus the bar at the end. Comments are appreciated, criticisms are noted.

That'll be actually quite simple. All I'll need to do is define a specific thumbnail for audio/animated icons, and load them up. Gallery can handle that sort of thing. I just hadn't gotten around to setting it up yet. (damn work and its website filtering!)

Thank you. Because of your little undertaking here, I've been able to collect sets from work for a couple games I was missing. Firewalls here block most of the inline images posted in the thread here and having no access to WinRAR at work means being limited to the few authors that are using zip archives.

I know i added the Nightmare Creatures pack but i noticed a few things that i've fixed... The Nightmare Creatures logo (PIC1 image) was over the top of the bat icon and date which was difficult to see so i just dropped it down a bit and the icons had a slight yellow outline on the right, all been done.

If the mod would like to discard my other post and take this one instead would be most appreciated.

Yep i did notice that slight watermark but i just couldn't find a good pic so i used that one. Thanks for that.

Well for the ICON0 i use photoshop CS2 and have made an action file to keep doing it with ease... I looked at most photoshop sites and found a really easy tutorial then made a quick action.
