Has anyone tried Overblood yet? I haven't found my copy to test right now. Overblood for the people who might of never heard about it, its a little like Resident Evil with Metal Gear elements.
It starts off with a guy waking up from cryogenic sleep in a deserted lab. The alarm is going off and its freezing. You have to quickly find a jacket before you die from hypothermia there is even a bar to show you how much time you have left. After that you'll meet up with this little robot you get to control and switch around during game play, and later find different kind of weapons, solve puzzles, and encounter zombie like creatures. I never got to beat the game so thats all I really know/remember about it and supposedly there is even a sequel to it.
If anyone has tried it, does it work well on the PSP's emulator?

I've been trying everything I possibly can to get this to work but I just can't figure it out, so I'm asking for help. I know its probably something obvious but I can't find anything wrong. The GUI says that everything is perfect and transfers without a problem. On PSP, the game appears to be Hotshots Golf 2 (as expected) but comes up with an Error Code 80000004 when trying to launch (doesn't even get to the game). It has done this exact same thing for both games (Crash Bandicoot 2 and Threads of Fate (both NTSC U)) I have tried. No tutorial has mentioned this and I just can't think of what to do...anyone have any idea??

*NEW* You can fix working-non-working games by opening the image in isobuster and resaving it to another format *NEW*
Can someone explain this? What do you convert the image to? Obviously it starts life as an iso(I'm assuming) but what do you convert it to so that it works? Thanks in advance.

Tomb Raider NTSC & PAL both crashed after starting a new game for me.
Tomb Raider II PAL not working either...Damn I love Tomb raider too hope the emu gets an update for these games....
i tried Catlevania SOTN, and it's working fine, until you find the first teleport in the outer wall, use it, and go back to the wall...
at this point, the game crashes...
someone else noticed this?I've completed the game yesterday (198.1% map completion btw) and didn't notice any problem at all - the game works perfect!
I only would like to have the ability to stretch the in-game-screen vertically, so that it would fill the entire screen in "full view" mode (but that's something only Sony could do).

Star Ocean2 is reported in the list as"crash after intro" but mine (NTSC-U) doesn't, I was able to save at first save point outside the village.
Destruction Derby Raw NTSC-U works but is quite laggy, even with the PSP clocked at 333.
Dino Crisis 1 (NTSC-U), Tactics Ogre (NTSC-U), Vandal Hearts 2 (NTSC-U) work too.

Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer (PAL) works: Use the crack from B.A.D.
It glitches a little bit, because it's PAL.
The original CD had bad sectors (due to the crack) but if you rip it with isobuster, you should be fine.
EDIT: Very bad sound in the first movie when Spyro is teleported, but after that: Everything is perfect!
EDIT2: The ingame sound is OK, but the sound in the movies is very, bad.
Just skip all those movies.

Dino Crisis = Loads, but doesn't get past the "This game contains scenes of explicit violence and gore" screen (PAL).
Pandemonium = Works, but some meaningless graphical glitches and a little screen misplacement (PAL).
Awesome list, thank you everyone for reporting! :)
By the way, PopStation can handle multi-track images, but the extension .iso cannot. UltraISO, the program I use for making my images, warns me when I try making .iso files of multi-track discs, and then makes the file a .bin instead (which seems to be compatible with multi-track discs). Hope that clears up a bit.

Chirotob============ you have to convert to .pbp file using popstation
not sure if my question was clear enough. In his edit, I am assuming he is saying to open a non-working game in isobuster. By that I further assume that the user has already tried to properly convert(or has already properly converted a number of games with save correction) PS1 games to the pbp file, and this particular game "X" does not work. I'm assuming now that I would need to open the iso file with isobuster, unless I'm missing something and isobuster can open the pbp file and I didn't know it.
Now what I need to know is what format do you save the file as once open in isobuster? I'm guessing isobuster won't convert to a pbp file, so again I assume that you need to save it as an iso file, which is exactly where you started to begin with.
Any further help is appreciated...and thanks again for the time.

I just copy the original with alcohol 120% into iso like you said, then you use popstation with the files from the hotshots ie........ keys.bin & base.php (renamed) from the eboot of hotshots golf (ps1)
This converts iso into eboot.php (of the game you have used) then all you have to do is put keys.bin & eboot.php into the game folder.
Hope this helps

I'm the one with the 80000004 error and I have tried all suggestions from every forum I can find, but still nothing. I tried updating again to OE-B just to be sure, still nothing. Tried converting the IMG to BIN and ISO formats before converting to EBOOT; still didn't work. Tried all forms in all folders and all in both 1.50 Kernel and 3.02. Nothing has worked and they all give the exact same error. I just don't know what to do and it doesn't seem like anyone else has this problem. *sigh*

Get the Key.bin file from Hot Shots Golf 2
Put in the same directory as your eboot or replace the one of the game you trying to play.
If it is a converted image, grab the latest version of IsoBuster wherever you can, you should know how to get it, open the image file, right click on session 1, Click on "Extract Session 1 <image>" click on RAW (*.bin, *.iso) and save the file as iso, then convert it with popstation.
Hope that helps, I was having same problem as you, also make sure you have the latest verision of Cygwin or later than june 2k6.

Okay, at least I now know what the problem is. I'm doing something wrong with OE-B; not the ISOs. Because Hot Shots Golf 2 doesn't even work by itself (same error). I read somewhere else that Error 80000004 means you either have custom fonts, gameboots, debranding, or a modchip. But I'm pretty sure I don't have any of those. I must have done something wrong in the settings of OE-B but I checked and everything is default...hmm

i tried Catlevania SOTN, and it's working fine, until you find the first teleport in the outer wall, use it, and go back to the wall...
at this point, the game crashes...
someone else noticed this?
Umm I'm not sure if I'm at the right point of the game, but I found the very first teleport in the outer wall which took me to some place near the beginning of the castle(where you met Death at the start). I teleported back to the outer wall but everything was fine, except there was now a lot of mist.
It might be a bad iso dump?

It's normal on PSP when playing FF IX. The emu is just not optimized for this game. But the lag is not biig, the game runs just little slower (1-2 frames slower but still visible)

80000004 - wrong save file data
...Thank you beyond all reason person who posted this. That made me realize that, after all this time and all the stuff I did, this was happening because of a save data file. When I was first installing OE-B I put a PSX save data file in my savegame folder to test something...and I forgot to delete it. Its funny how such weird problems always have such simple, make-me-feel-like-an-idiot solutions. Thanks again everyone, works great now.
And I can verify Threads of Fate (NTSC U) works great. :D

Also to add, Strider2 NTSC and Duke Nukem Time to Kill NTSC work as well..
Also Blasto NTSC and Disneys Hercules NTSC both work.
Oh and BTW you have Hokuto no ken NTSCj as working but it freezes after you kill the guy with the eye patch the screen just stays black and music plays... similar to the problem in Resident Evil 2.

Star Ocean 2 (Second Story) NTSC does work, im playing it right now with no problems. It is an NTSC rip I made myself not too long ago, I think the other guy just had a bad rip or something. Please update the list I would hate for another SO2 lover to see that and get discouraged :)
I just past the first battle in Shingo Forest with no issue. Saving works and the emulation is smooth and fast... only problems are the semi-glitchy sound that most games have with the pops emulator right now :D

I also forgot to mention that the sound in FF7 is FAR from perfect. POPS, like in most games, has an annoying chirp during the FMV's. This is blatantly apparent in the opening video where its a starscape. All you should hear is a soft breeze as it pans around to look at the stars. Also, as with most emulators, the sounds that the characters make when they hit the enemies in battle is fudged up. Clouds sword doesnt have that meaty slicing sound.. its more like a clink. Pretty much everyone elses weapon is weird sounding too. The higher pitched SFX like jumping and things like that get garbled too every now again and dont quite play right and make funny blurting noises.

I second this. I ripped my copy of Star Ocean 2 (NTSC) two days ago. I'm about 4 hours in and it works beautifully still. The part I'm really loving about this is we get the goodness of PSX titles without the evil that was CD load times.

I can hear the chirping in many games videos-- another example is the opening rock animation on SOTN

The sound in the opening FMV works fine for me. I know the sounds your refering to because I get it when CWCheat is loaded, but without it works fine.
The attacking sounds is garbled for me too, but only 50% of the time. Half the attacks sound how they should, the other times it sounds like a kind of bleeping noise.

to get driver 2 (NTSC) playable while driving around in a car. You can hold down R trigger or you can jack a car that has a siren and the game will be playable. so u dont have to hold down the R trigger. it works for the undercover mode. you have to do this every time you start the game.

As per the new text on the front page: I'm 99% Grandia also lets you save and go to disc 2.
Also, for Xenogears has anyone made it to the first boss with Deus(quite far into the game)? It has a certain attack that makes all the PC emulators crash and makes a real PS2 crash if you turn the graphics smoothing on. I'm sure Sony's emulator should be better than the PC ones, but it's something we should verify before it goes on the definitely working list.

Vib Ribbon - Technically it works, but since the game relies on CD Audio tracks, which Popstation doesn't support, the game just keeps asking for an audio CD over and over.

yep, i just tested it and its works fine :D nice find mixedkid...if u dont press the R button the game become laggy when u drive (~5-7fps), the game works fine when u r on foot, so u dont need to press the R then...if u press and hold R button, the driving is on normal speed (like on a real PS1/PS2). so i can confirm that it works with the NTSC version of the game :D..can u add this extra info sony154

I guess this method should work fine with Driver too, as it use the same engine as the second and some ppl reported some slowdowns too...also, i just stolen a school bus in Driver 2 (free ride mode) and by accident, i hit a parking meter on the street, then the game/psp freezed up completly and shutdown after  so ppl try not to hit those parking meters in missions..lol :p

Final Fantasy 8 - (NTSC) Hangs if you draw and cast scan on the blue bies just outside first graden. You can draw and stock it but you cant cast it.
Alundra - (NTSC) Smal hardly noticeable flaw might be due to the game being displayed on LCD in stead of normal CRT. Vertical walls when you are inside houses tend to get a fading flamey effect when walking left and right.

I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I've got some little problems with Final Fantasy VII.
1) When I'm selecting a target, the hand cursor in the menu (lower part of the screen) doesn't show. In it's place it's shown what's below the cursor in the battle screen.
2) When I'm using the ALL materia, the cursor should blink on all targets. Some times it works normally but sometimes it stays like I'm selecting just one target.
3) Tifa's Limit Break.
I'll post screenshots later

Has anyone tried combining all 3 disks of ff7 into one eboot? I've made working backups of all 3 disks. I then dumped the contents of all 3 disks into seperate folders. Then i combined all folders into one. i then recreated the iso using magiciso. then converted using PXS2PSP0.6 using save ID of disk 1. So far all seems good. i load in xmb and the background/icon semi-fade into wall paper and freeze. home menu is psx mode and working. exit and go to usb, proper savedata has been created on MS.
conclusions... the only difference in each disk is the movies, super nova files on 3, and each disk had a file ... SCUS_941.63, SCUS_941.64, SCUS_941.65 respectably on its root dir. I tried eboots built with all 3 files in the root, and with the SCUS_941.63 only... same results... also tried using straight up popstation command prompt no filename or saveid change... same results... eboot.pbp 1,276,257KB too big?
Has anyone had any success?

Seems to work with no major problems. The first cinema had some out-of-sync voice, with some points almost going too fast. Doesn't seem to be a problem with any of the "while your playing" cutscenes. Might just be a PAL thing.

For some of the games (all NTSC-U), I get a 1 cm black screen at the top and bottom of the psp screen. Is this because I ripped PS CD badly? or is it because the emulator doesn't handle the screen adjustment correctly?
By the way, Star Ocean: The Second Story works perfectly for me, fullspeed no sound problems on the NTSC-U. Only problem is that small black strip at the bottom and the top as mentioned above.

Regarding Final Fantasy VIII (NTSC):
I did a little research for those interrested. Many people report crashes in battle when using limits, casting magic or drawing it from monsters. Also, people report crashes with the boss in the communication tower. That is indeed true, but not 100%. I did this: I loaded a save about 15 times, entered a random battle in this place 15 times, faced the same enemy 15 times, and did exactly the same command pattern 15 times. about 20% of the time it crashed. My commands were:
1) Using an Aura Stone at Quistis (never crashed)
2) Casting Scan (a frequent crash people repont, it never crashed to me)
3) Casting Laser Eyes with Quistis (crashed once)
4) Drawing Magic and casting it (Curaga, Scan, never crashed)
5) Casting Shockwave Pulsar with Quistis (never crashed)
I did the same pattern at many locations. And here is what I noticed 95% of the crashes occured when I had the Screen Mode of the emulator stretched (either Normal or Full Screen). I noticed that every time a character casts a spell from the above (or any spell for that matter), the memory card flasshes for a second before executing it, and maybe lags one-two frames before that. That means it loads the animation sequence to the memory, just as any PC does it to the RAM when playing games. Well, if crashes occur more often when the screen is stretched (in other words, an internal emulation parameter that also needs processing), it means that the hangs have to do with the lack of memory, as if the emulator is not handling it properly. I think, since this emulator was designed for Hot Shots, and it worked properly there, it was simply not tested for other purposes (Like playing Final Fantasy VIII...), so there were never lack of memory there.
I do believe that when more games will be available for the PSP, the emulator will be better (since it will be tested for more games). Considering the fact that only five games were available, and that only for about one month and only in US-JAP, and we already have it hacked, used it inside a custom firmware that supports it, and have a 65 page thread covering it's compatibility, this will be rather quick, when Sony releases it ;). Do not forget that Sony stated that 7000 titles will be available by the end of 2007 (bollocks in my opinion, but lets keep the faith), and I can't imagine Final Fantasy series being left out, it would be plain stupid (even for Sony). Now if someone checks for torrents here and there, already all the official games for the emulator are available (especially Hot Shots, and do not tell me all those people that created this 65 page thead have bought a PS3 to aquire the game ;)). That means we will definitelly play this game full speed and perfect some day.
In conclusion regarding this game, I would mark it buggy, since crashes are random and frequent, although one may try to finish the game, but armed with patience... Also, the communication tower crash, also is random, but more frequent, so I do not think "works (NTSC) confirmed crash at comm tower" is the best descriptionn but "buggy (NTSC) random crashes in battles, use Original screen setting".
I hope I carified this situation.

Hmm thanks for that info
So what i'm still wondering:
- does it crash at all when you don't stretch the screen
- when you get past the communication tower does it crash less? (at all?)
still strange that for some scan crashes and others it doesn't.

1) It does crash, but far less (in 15 times, it crashed once, while 2/3 of the times it crashes when I have the screen stretched
2) The "crash rate" is the same after communication tower. It depends on where you battle, and what you do in the battle.
In general, if you have your screen at Original, you probably will be able to play the game with only a few crashes, but to me, just give it a month or so, and a new release will probably be out ;)

When you overclock at 333/166, it will fix the choppy sound problem too. That's what weltal said and I'm confirming that is true. I tried overclocking to fix this problem at first and I got lucky that it fixed the crashing problem too.

Unfortunatelly it does not fix things, at least 100%:
I tried the same sequence as my previous post and here is what happened.
1) Scan was ok (again)
2) Aura Stone worked fine
3) Quistis's Laser Eye worked fine two times, BUT the third time, in order to test the theory you mention I tretched the screen. Guess what. It stuck.
I will put this to the test, by constant battling here and there trying everything. Also, if one could give me his save file so I could try doing that in places people reports it crashes (like the president battle). I will post my results analytically.

Admittedly, all I managed was a thread search for "spacehulk" and "space hulk", so at the risk of repeating someone, has anyone given this game a go yet? You are right. It does not work at 100%. I just got another freeze. I tried getting into random battles to see if this solution stands and it doesn't. That's really too bad. I have my image in done exactly the same way, so I do not think this is the solution... It has to be something dealing with the emulator, since epsxe runs the same image flawlessly, and popstation simply recompiles the image, it does not alter it in any way.

i have no idea what cheatmaster is (will look into it) but cwcheat installs as a PRX plugin into OE-B. download it n it's all in the readme i think

Ah thanks, I'll see if there's anyway to convert what I haveto Ntsc before I resort to the torrent option, otherwise that's going to take me ages via torrents XE

Mortal Kombat Trilogy (NTSC) = Works, but no music/sound effects (NTSC)
^ Is this game suppose to have music like the N64 version? Mine has all the "sound effects" (from the fighters... the commentary while in fight, etc).

i tried Catlevania SOTN, and it's working fine, until you find the first teleport in the outer wall, use it, and go back to the wall...
at this point, the game crashes...
someone else noticed this?
Yes', this happened to me a few times. When that happens you should bypass the teleport to go to outerwall, after that it will work fine. It will happen rarely but it may happen again later in the game. Iam at 98% and it happend twice. Its a glitch if you directly teleport from entrance to outerwall.
Other teleports work fine.

I have Star Ocean : The Second Story working. I tried it at first by skipping the intro movies, then I ran it letting the movies run completely through. I'm not sure if it works 100% through the entire game, but I have played it up to the point where some girl is showing me around her village.
Edit : Also have Gran Turismo (NTSC) working.
