MY PS3 and my thoughts on it...

Well i was so excited when i fell opon the opertunity of accually getting a PS3,but looking back and knowing what i know now i would have done things a little differant.Hindsight is always 20/20.....first off i would have went all the way and bought the 60 GB ps3...i didnt becuas I was told i could have all the
features of a 60GBv on a 20 GBv....(with aditional hardware)I asked the sony rep(when he setup the display modle PS3 at my work) if i could still have psp- ps3 remote play & wifi connection if i hooked up a wifi router thru a eathernet cable to a 20 GB PS3.(he said i could run the PSP -PS1 emulator with a 20 GBv).Now the offical truth is only a 60GBv will work with a psp thru ad hoc....since a wifi router cant use ad hoc.........mabe a firmware update will one day fix my problem and we all love firmware updates right???;)

So thats my first problem with my ps3,the second is that PS2 games look like crap thru a ps3,and they lagg in online modes......like i'm running dial up or somthing??? so i am back to playing PS2 Instead of PS3:confused:

third problem is that if u want to download free game demos from the online playstation store u gotta keep your firmware up to date.....like i said who doesnt love a security patching,homebrew blocking update???? :rolleyes:

I boughta 36" HD flat pannel lcd just for the ps3 and the ps3 just comes with av cables?!?!? So droped $40 on monster componet cables for the ps3
witch i use on my PS2 now....

i am just basicly testing out this PS3 of mine and I am kinda disapointed with it...i am trying to find a keyboard that will work with the linux installer...i plan to try and hack this ps3 if it bricks or gets buggy im just gonna sell it and buy a 60 gb ps3......I can get a ps3 pretty eaisly, i usually start Work 1 hour befor the store opens and i know when we have ps3s befor anyone else.
I have allready bought 4 for other people and now word of mouth is getting arround that i am ebaying them wich i am NOT!!! after 3 or 4 more i will stop (snice i should have enough for a new 60 gb ps3 for me);)
I make a nice profit scince i get a employee discount:)

Im waiting on mine at the mo, should be here next week. But, after playing on a friends last night, my excitement has gone and instead im thinking of selling it to my brother intead. The reason - no rumble. Yes i knew it wasn't included in the first place but damn, you really do take it for granted and i missed it like crazy.

and whats the use in that? theyre still not going to have any rumble features in PS3 games and even if they did, what about the motion sensing?

Its just rumor but I dunno ...rumble wasnt a huge deal for me ..

hey deadsoulasis will u have the "devhook for ps3" ready anytime soon or was that all just bs???I freakn bought Gundam crossfire and and would like to try to fix it thru mabe a devhook like ap that could speed up the cpu clock.....but may their isnt a way to fix pure ps3 crap.:(

You are TRYING to find a USB keyboard? Are you looking under your couch of something?? Any regular USB keyboard from any store will work. Heck, mine also works with my Apple Mighty Mouse as well.

never say never.....linux needs to have a blu-ray driver written for it.then we need a ps3 firmware dumper kinda lke a psar dumper for psp.give it time..........:D

look this kid has no idea what's he talking about in the first place. What does devhook have to do with some linux hacking contest? That link he posted has nothing to do with devhook or anything other related to homebrew on the console. IMHO he's just pulling ppl to that site.

let me guess...the same dumper your gunna try with PSP firmware 3.03 which is not devhook working? good luck on that

access to linux drivers from nvidia-nope
access to firmware dump's...which are not-dekriped now so ...

ill say it again ...PS3 is not built to be modded/hacked...like it or not

the psp scene is IMO the place to be if u have a hackable psp at the moment,
The PS3 scene will Grow in Time,and when it does we will all look back and see that the PSP kinda was a test subject from sony,I mean jap 1.0 firmware was homebrew compatable,and the they try to patch up their mistake with over a dozen FW updates.what got me into the scene was when i bought my first 1 GB memorystick the f-ing package says Holds Music, Movies,Savedata,Pictures,and most importantly "GAMES",and under the PSP XMB their is a memstick icon under game,u click it and it says "their are no games",I thought What are these games i cannot play?I did a google search for "PSP memorystick games",the reasults showed me PSP hacking sites and wa-la,i know and ued homebrew.

the funny thing is that sony was gonna release PSP games by CDs that u would have to put on the memorystick, but Fastloader f#cKed that up,and the whole "SONY will never make umd burners" thing promoted UMD dumping and iso loaders,

SO IMO SONY F-d up and brought the psp scene in onto itself..........

I see it as clevar marketing ploys.......
