Is the scene dead, i dont know of any projects going on, no new bios released and even this forum is discussing the same things over and over again. So is the scene dead

no why is it dead?
most people are probably just playing their gamecubes while the bios is taking so long to come out. no doubt when it does come out it'll bring all new problems and questions for us all to ponder over.
saying it's dead just makes other people think it's dead...better to stay positive about it all.
I'm sure we'll all be happy when we get 0.5/V1.0 of our favourite cobra bios.
Plsu if no bios comes out someone else will do it. In fact other people are working on bios's already from decrypting the cobra so i'm confident we'll have a rival to cobra/ps2ownz soon enough anyway.
so i'd say it's more away than dead,,, but feel free to disagree
Of course it's not dead - this kind of post has absolutely no point lol ;)

exactly.
i bet you thought it was dead before the viper too though yeah?
i'm not trying to have a go at you but comments like that just suck becuase it makes other people think the same thing. the GC community (especially now) is quite a spare 'community project'. Making people read that it's dead can only have negitive effects....
or are you just trying to see how alive it is :)

Im not going to say its dead..its just slowed down quite a bit. Once Viper got released there was a lot of excitement going around..but last while now...its really slowed down. Theres still the cubehacker/divineo 60 day competition going on..which ends next month..so it'll be nice to see what if anything comes out of that. Again..not much info being talked about on any of the entries.
0.5 bios is definately being worked on and who knows..could come out any day now..or maybe even take months..who really knows. But it is definately still being worked on.
So is the scene dead...no. Is there a whole lot of interest in it as well? Not really. But hell one big project that could come out of nowhere could really change all that.

it seems the cube seen is just picking up, but i think it's a little late. not saying that the scene is dead, its just limited. if there was a chip out a few years ago the scene would be blastin just like xbox and ps2, as you can see from nfo sites, there arent that many cube games around. sure there are many personal rips that never make it to the site, but still. i think the viper cant even save the cube. the nintendo gc cube has never been ALIVE in my point of view... hope this doesnt offend anyone :-D

i agree Dapoopta, it is very slow and will only get slower as to ViperGC been to late (but thats only my thought)...

Personally, I'm happy with my current setup. It'd be nice to have the 0.5 BIOS, but at the moment I have no conflicts preventing me from playing any games I want.
The scene is ALLLIVVVE. http://www.cube-scene.org

If the scene was dead I would not be answering your post?
I think the same loads of people have bought a viper and are happy downloading and playing games perfectly. No need to post stupid messages untill new info is available.
:)
lol, the scene was never as good as this and it will only get better :)

Well at the moment Viper is still kicking in.. As soon as its pefected and plays games flawlessly, then the scene dies, but then people will start developing new things, Linux will get better.. N64 emu could be built into Cobra BIOS, then u just burn N64 games on DVD and the Viper can play it, that would be cool...
