Well i don't currently have a DS, but i plan on getting one next paycheck.

I've been doing a lot of research to prepare for getting an M3 Lite Perfect

For now i use my girlfriends DS most of the time, and when i get mine i want to do a lot of gamesharing, but apparently you can't share unless their DS is flashed.

Should i get the M3LPerfect with a passkey device to flash hers? I was led to believe they cost a lot, or would HER having a passcard in her DS allow me to gameshare roms.

Any ideas on helping gamesharing roms are appreciated.

Just flash hers, having the passcard in hers wont help.

BE VERY CAREFUL IN FLASHING!

Cheapest way is whatever price you can get a PassCard/SuperKey/similar NoPass (http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/NoPass) product. Or even better, find someone to borrow a NoPass from to flash your and your gf's DS. PSXBOX.net is pretty cheap and has optional cheap but not so fast sending methods :)

You can do that with a superkey or pass card?

This topic is really hard to do research on i must say.

Can you gameshare GBA games?

First of all, by "gamesharing" I assume you mean what is known as "Download Play". Wikipedia defines it as thus: "Nintendo DS Download Play is the system in which Nintendo DS owners who don't own a game can still play the game with someone who has it."

If you are trying to do download play with a rom, then the ds receiving the download, must be flashed with flashme. The one that is sending the rom, does not have to be flashed, but of course, to be able to load a rom, you would need a passme device and a flash cart. So for example, you can get your M3 Perfect and a passcard 3 (the passcard 3 is only $20 US from pretty much any online mod dealer), you can pop the M3 and passcard into your girlfriends ds and load flashme (It's really not hard, I've done 6 of them so far without problems, just make sure you read about it before doing it, since most people who bricked their ds did so because they didnt read, and they stuck their flashing tool into the wrong hole or somthing). Once it is loaded, you can take your passcard and M3 and stick em back in your ds, and you will be able to send any roms you want over her way so you can play together.

Last point.. in regards to your question about gamesharing with GBA roms.. I have no experience with this, but I noticed on my G6 PC software, when loading a rom onto the flashcart, there was an option for somthing like "GBA Link". I asked a friend of mine about it, and we both came up with the idea, that it was possibly an option to somehow simulate linking two GBAs together to play multiplayer GBA roms.. I have no idea if this is even remotely close to what that option was for, and I would have to check later when I get home if the same option is on M3.. If anyone knows exactly what this option is/does, I would appreciate it.

graveyrd, thanks so much for the indepth response.

When i read about flashing a DS, i noticed that i hadn't read any info about putting flashme onto an M3 and using a passcard.

So, to clarify, i can flash a DS with the flashme software using a passcard, and not a passme device where you need a game sticking out of your DS etc etc.

And i read the info about the flashing, seems easy enough.

thanks again:)

To be able to load flashme in the first place, you need a passme device.

As far as I understand, the passcard or superkey, are basically the third generation of passme type devices. These are definate improvements over the old passme devices because you do not need an original ds cartridge to be plugged into it. With these new ones, you just plug it in, and it instantly will bypass the ds security for you, and boot you to a flashcart like M3 that is in your GBA slot.. I think the old passme devices are pretty hard to come by these days, unless your buying used.. like I said before, definitely get a passcard or superkey (they are exactly the same.. just a different manufacturer.. need to have competition you know), for like $20-$25 US and your M3..

Technically once you have flashed your ds, you can pretty much throw away your passme device, since that functionality is built into flashme. I only keep mine to use for flashing friends ds's, or for putting into a friends ds to do download play when they dont want to flash. So if like jelbo said, you have a friend who has a passkey device you can borrow, you can do the flashme without having to purchase the passcard.

It will work if she has a passcard in her DS?

The other guy on this thread said it wouldn't

Again, to be able to "download play" a "rom", the ds that is downloading/receiving (not the one that is uploading/sending) MUST BE flashed with FlashMe or the download will not connect and fail..

I suggest flashing both ds's because it is better, and then you don't have to worry about download play games not working at all. But if you only want to flash one, then flash ds#1, and then once it is done, take both the passcard and M3 out, and put them both into ds#2. Now ds#2 is not flashed, but you can load up your rom and start the download, and then now ds#1 which has no games in it at all, can be turned on, and receive the download, and then you guys play.. This all assumes you only have one passcard and one flashcart (M3)..
