HD-DVD Player Update Disc

Hi guys , im looking at buying the hd-dvd drive in a few weeks (uk release),but im worried as it comes with an update disc , is this the fall update that is causing all the problems or just a specific update for the hd-dvd drive.

Probably just drivers for the HD-DVD.

I'd say it has both, just in case you don't have the chance to update.
Plus you probably need the update to use the drive.

by the way my 360 was manufactured in march 06 would that be a ms25 it has a samsung drive so do you think it would be safe to update
