Also, crappy image quality (there probably is a high res video somewhere out there though), direction, and ugly people, doesn't mean they weren't paid :rolleyes:

Seems like they tried to rip-off the Wii impressions videos (the ones that show real first-time reactions). This doesn't look any different than a bunch of people playing PS2 / XBOX system.

If Sony made this video, did they really think that it would make people want the PS3 who did not already?

Only one thing impressed me...the realistic way that it shows the photos texured onto papers that look like real developed/printed photos. Even for something so simple, the realism was amazing. It's too bad that the PSP and Wii do not have a mode to display pictures in this manner.

That was incredible boring. Did anyone notice that they kept on showing the controller like it is something new? I think most of that video was video of a controller. NBA looked like crap.

The wii does have a slideshow for pictures. I doubt that it can bend the sides of the pictures though, like the PS3 did. I wouldn't pay 600 dollars for this almost useless feature anyways. Wheres final fantasy, Socom 4, GT5, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Rachet and Clank? Come on Sony, put your best foot foward.

these days tho people dont buy 4 pads, if theyre playing multiplayer they do it online, at least they get a full screen to them selves.

Even my PS2, Xbox, GC, 360 ive only baught 2 pads, i never have more than 2 becuase tho my TV is big, i hate the way multiplayer games split the screen, i prefare a full screen, or like Tiger Woods, turn based.

When i get a PS3, ill never ever get more than 2 pads, because ive never played a game with more than 2 players, if i have (360) its been online.

the Importing of something is not illegal, you are quite within your rights to purchase something and bring it back to your country... SONY pushed the copyright issue again with importing, and picked a stupid judge that knows nothing about the subject, if they tried this tactick in JAPAN or USA they would loose! Imports yea are legal, but when the company say no, its then illegal.

Sony did tell them they cant do it, they chose to ignor that.

Sony would be in the wrong if they didnt say that the PS3 cant be imported, then find Lik Sang importing, then pinnishing them, point is Sony made it clear what would happen to those who do.

And where are lik sang based???? not in europe so they would have ordered them for where ever there based.

They decided to ignor sony and export it to other regions.

Sony never supplied them to lik sang to export it did they.

Sony will supply the other regions PS3 consoles to be sold in that region, not to export it to europe, they warned people who do export them to other regions will be punnished.

Retro, Sony didn't give them warnings and then finally file suit. Sony lied to the judge to get the ruling passed less then a week ago and as soon as it did, they hit Lik with 10 lawsuits for past sales. I honestly don't think Sony can win on past sales since the ruling just passed but there is no way a small business can keep up with 10 lawsuits against a big corporation. Hence, Sony bleeding Lik to death.

First off sony won becuase lik-sang couldn't show.. the case didnt go to court

#1 sony strategically brought lawsuits in multiple countries knowing lik-sang couldn't financially step up to the plate to defend itself. Therefore forcing them to close their doors. A simple court order to pull the import psp's would have done the trick No need to close down a small company like that.

#2 PSP is region free.. You Shouldn't make a region free console if you dont expect people to import. Not to mention compleetley mis-manage the launch of your product to the point that people NEED to import if they want to get it at decent price.

#3 ps3 has not been imported since it is not out yet. So the lawsuit was for import PSP.. (which is legal BTW)

#4 Nintendo and other compaines have had problems with lik-sang in the past and have remedied the situation without bringing on massive lawsuits and forcing people to lose their jobs..

Back on topic.. Those vids were pretty lame and a blatant attempt for sony to try and cop the same idea nintendo had with videos showing people playing.. Unfortunately for them playing a PS3 doesnt look all that exciting from these vids.

There were several people in the same room trying to entertain themselves with only one controller. Don't you think this looks set-up/forced/awkward? Basketball/sports games specifically are more fun when played competitively or cooperatively. Some of these people were obviously told to pretend that it was fun/entertaining to watch someone else play. In reality, gamers like you and I can be somewhat entertained by watching someone else play. But, seriously, there were adults with lives and responsibilities watching some kid play a basketball game, as if they really gave a sh*t about the outcome. That's not "real".

Truthfully, it's likely that the ad agency tasked with making this video was only given one controller due to a grievous oversight. If Sony gave the ad agency more than one controller, you can bet that they would have been using them.

You've probably never used more than 2 controllers because Sony did not give you four controller ports with the PS2, requiring you to purchase a 4-player adapter seperately. Of course, since so few people had purchased this, many games simply never added support for it. The only games that come to mind for PS2 when I think of 4-player games are sports games...the main reason why such adapters were developed.

My N64 would have only gotten about half as much use were it not for the four controller ports (and the 4 controllers that I had). It was a good idea on Nintendo's part to offer 4 ports and multiple controller colors so that each player knew which port they were connected to (by looking at the connectors). Since Nintendo set the precedent, both Sega and Microsoft have released game consoles with four ports and seen them put to excellent use by a wide variety of games. The Playstation systems have largely missed out on "party games", which were further crippled by having load times. There were some attempts at these types of games (Crash Bash comes to mind), but the load times between each mini-game challenge detracted from the experience.

In the coming years, you may come across some good deals on additional PS3 controllers. Based on my own experience, I would advise you to purchase 3 additional controllers. You'll have a blast whenever the opportunity comes along to put them all to use.

Sony has no say in this. Once Lik-Sang obtains products legally, it is their property to take/send wherever they please so long as it violates no laws. Selling to Europeans does not violate any law. A retailer operating in Europe, selling imported PS3's *is* against the law. Sony lied about this to the judge and got a ruling that could EASILY be overturned based on it's inaccuracy, but Lik-Sang is overwhelmed by lawsuits from Sony in several different countries...there is no way they can keep up. This is a classic strong-arm litigation tactic by big companies bossing others around though they have no legal grounds to do so.

There is no indication that the creator of the image was a "Nintendo fan." He also did not insult next-gen graphics. He made a curious observation. The image/caption was probably created specifically to develop the non-sensical play on words.
