View Full Version : Call of Duty 3 same missions as 360/PS3 and will fully utilize Wii Controls
One of the COD3 developers has commented that his team had to do very little in terms of changing the gameplay for the Wii version of the game, and boasts the control scheme feels very natural.
"We were quite surprised that we didn't have to adapt the single-player game," says the World War II shooter's executive producer Marcus Iremonger. "There are a few minor changes we had to do, but not gameplay-wise. It works pretty well: you're not in any way hindered, compared with a normal controller."
Iremonger admits that the Wii controller is "very, very different" but says that "it feels very natural". Developer Treyarch had little difficulty in deciding how to configure the Wii-mote for its highly anticipated threequel.
"You pick it up and it's obvious how to play it," continues Iremonger. "You have this pointing device. Well, what are you going to do with it? You're going to aim a weapon. This whole synergy between what you are doing in front of your television and what your character appears to be doing on-screen is the biggest strength of that platform."

COD is one of the few games I really enjoyed on my 360.
The next version I'll buy will be for the Wii.
I love mouse/keyboard shooters and the Wii looks to be up my alley.
I tried the adapters on the original Xbox.....just too flakey.

yup same game, but watered down, maybe even last gen graphics, so even tho your wavin/pointing it will still feel like a last gen game.

how will it feel different, its played like using a light gun, you still walk arround shoot people.
You could play the Wii version and the 360 version and high chances are the 360 version will be liked more as it looks more real, the remote isnt going to make it anymore fun.

Think about: throw grenade, moves to make melee, real sniper pinting devices.. sure, that is a lot of Fun with analog controller, but some people could disagree.

Yeah, I can't wait for this one. I think I will play it on both consoles to see which one I prefer. I hope I will have two console options with a lot of the good games coming out. Besides the different controls it will be 10 bucks cheaper. I'm sure the graphics will be fine unless you have a hd tv. They say you cant tell much difference between the xbox and 360 on a non hd tv. I have a 55inch hdtv so I'm screwed. Hey anyone notice that wal-mart has 42" (around that size) plasmas for 1,000. Native resolution isnt 1024*768 it's a bit lower but that's still a good price.

it will be interesting to see the difference in the games over the different formats, although the high def mode of the ps3/360 modes will look far better then the wii, nintendos ideas of the wii making games easier to control could also be proven with this too.

So if you could play a fps with a gun in your hand and still move arround in the 3d environment, wouldnt that be better? Aiming with an analogue stick is absolute crap compared to a mouse, being able to point and shoot with the wii will hopefully give you the same accuracy, speed and control.
Time crisis was just a scripted point n shoot anyway, nothing like a FPS, COD will be the same game on all formats, having a different control method doesnt turn a FPS into time crisis.

No to me it would feel the same, i play alot of fps games on pc eg prey and the only thing that makes prey better compared to 360 and pc is that the pc has better graphics and enviroments, so the Wii i would enjoy CoD on the 360 more because it can hande everything batter than the Wii could, but saying that i would like the pc version more because everything the 360 has will be on my pc but again even better, textures shadow/lighting and particles, the more stuff you see on screen to give a more realistic feel is what i go for, mouse, analogue or remote wont make a difference as its the game im playing, if the game is crap then i wont enjoy it no matter how i play it.
On a pad, you press a button to aim then move the analogue, then shoot
On a Mouse you press a key (mainly Z) then move the mouse, then shoot
On the Wii remote youll press a key then move the remote, then shoot
at the end its the same idea to me, so id rather pay more and get more out of the gaming experience.
Dont get me wrong i may get a Wii but the fact is i know the remote isnt going to make CoD any better than the 360, in fact when the game comes out i think the 360 version will be rated better than the Wii.

feck me, i wish i saw this video first, LOL its reminds me of the DC, most the games are worse than GC and some look exaclty the same, and aswell nintendo again never show official footage of people playing the Wii, all this video has, like all the other, people being pricks waving like reatards

Now FPS games will for sure become interesting on the Wii, I'm just not sure I will go get COD, since I never really liked that game.
But I bet a ton more of same type games will appear on the Wii, which is awesome :)

I ahte analog to shot guns, the degree for freedom is too much "tigh", no precision there . The force change with the time, you enver know where the mouse could go enxt time, impossible to defeat a Mouse/wii-mote player with an analog without the use of a hack or a lock funtion, ( lock is a very gay thing ), or the game must be easy as a walk on the park.

I don't know retro....you keep saying that the remote won't make a difference but the stylus with the Ds has made ALL the difference in the way games are played. It can do things that can't be done with a regular contoller. I think the remote will make COD 4 interesting on the Wii. haha COD.........COD piece

yup stylus made a diffrence, but too many people have found most games dont fully support it, nor is it comfortable to play (especially been left handed) the games that perfectly suite the ds are 2d games.
Also the reason why i posted the link is most of those games are worse than the GC, and ive seen DS titles that are boeing ported to the Wii, nothing like money making, also Mario Galaxy looked crap.
Sorry but it just reminds me of the DC when that came out, it looked ok, but couldnt keep up with the current next gen consoles.
Honestly, take a good look at the videos games and compare to the GC, you have to agree they look worse, yet you pay more for the console:confused:

They look a lot better better than GC, because many are jsut Fillers, doesn't mean is the console's potential... Mario galaxy looks pretty :) ..many try to introduce more interactivity than visual , so that's anotehr point. There are party games too...
Sure there are games with nice visual that should enver come to life, like Devil kings, or Crimson Sea 2.. Go and smash and no more.. . I do prefer to selevt games, but this is a video about titles on first step on the Wii 's walk, no much to spect from thema s they are the first attempt. Even that, they look Fun for sure. Mawasundaaaaaa!

current next gen? DC was the first next gen console to the market for about 6 months.

thats your opinion, not fact, if there were "too many people" with the same problems as you (and you alone it seems) then the DS wouldnt be selling like it is.

Yup, and look how many sega fans there were, but because the DC was nothing compared to the other next gen consoles it stoped selling.
I think after a while the remote wont be such a big deal like it is now, its wow factor will be gone and people will start to question why are we having to pay more to buy the remote, games are more than what they were in the last gen and they look simlar or worse.
The Wii is nothing new, the games will look last gen (slightly improved) and the controller is the only new thing, and you dont look at a GC, PS2 or a XBOX game and think wow im using a pad with rumble, you love the plot/story and its graphics.
How many people do you see in a game shop who ignor the front cover and turn straight to the back to look at the in game pics, and read what its about, everyone does and that has nothing to do with its controls, its the game pics/story and people will go wow that sounds/looks good then buy it.
