Xbox hard drive unlocking tool?

Sorry guys for my n00b question but i have a xbox hard drive that i would like to use on my pc for a little bit more extra storage. The problem is that it is locked and i have no password to unlock it and the original xbox has been sold.

I read some time ago that there was an app that could unlock the hd without the password. Is this true? If yes would someone be kind to tell me the name of the prog?
