hi there,
have recently downgraded from 2.71 to 1.50
I installed dh using the ultimate installer 1.11 and it installed firmware 2.71 also.
My PSP is JAP and I'm used to it's button config (circle for confirm, cross for back). Problem is, the 2.71 firmware installed with dh uses the worldwide config (cross for confirm, circle for back). This confuses me when I'm entering text or in the save menu as I always press circle to confirm and it ends up not saving or cancelling!
To solve the problem I tried running dh + firmware 2.71 and in the XMB menu reset the system settings. This doesn't work, as each time you try to run v2.71 the PSP goes in an infinity loop saying (system data is damaged, press to repair), reboots, and goes back to the same screen again. I'm presuming this happens cos the PSP is v1.5 so it's repairing the system data to that version all the time.
So, my question is, is there any way (eg hexedit a file or something) I can changed the button settings on the v2.71 firmware to JAP?
many thanx
