1.Is there any release date known for flashme v8?
2.Is there an original NDSLite firmeware available? ... so that it would possible to restore the original state of the NDSLite for warranty purposes ...

...i searched around in the forum, but can't find anything tangible...

If you searched, you would see you didn't find anything. Since you find anything, it would make sense that the information doesn't exist.

Why make a reply like this, it servers no purpose. He stated he searched but did not find any hard facts on it.

1: No one knows when v8 of flashme will be out. v7 has been out for a long time now and has only seen a minor update to inlcude DS Lite screen brightness adjustments. Not really sure what they would need to improve upon from v7 as it seems to work just fine.

2: Aparently the noflashme doesn't restore the DS Lites screen brightness adjustments and even crashes pictochat on euro DS units. Just having the orginal DS Lite firmware wont make it where you can just flash it back, you will have to wait till someone update noflashme. You could try just throwing the stealth version of flashme as it makes it where you get the health warning and such so it looks just like the orginal firmware. If your returning to a retail store they'll never check the firmware in a million years but if your sending it to Nintendo you run the risk of them actualy checking. I can tell you I just sent 2 DS Lites to Nintendo to have the cracked hinges fixed and all they did was just mail me a 2 new units the same day they recieved my 2 defective units. I highly doubt that in the time they had they actualy took the time to look at my firmware (granted the units were used). If you try to send it back and they do check the firmware and find flashme im guessing the only thing that would happen is that they would just send it back unfixed and say you voided your warrenty. I doubt highly any legal type of action would be brought upon you or that they would actualy just keep your DS (but thats all just an educated guess).

unfortunatly i think that even if noflashme is updated...the original firmware is still not known by v7 so i think it may be lost...Also flashme v7lite does need to be updated as thier are already games comming out that dont work with it...

I have only heard rumors about this. What games don't work with flashme v7?

Two of those recent Japanese jigsaw puzzle games (I think they are 0534 and 0535) crash right after you choose an option in the game on a flashme'd DS, but not on a stock DS using a passcard 3, or if you force a passcard 3 boot with a flashed DS. So yes, flashme needs an update.

(still curious however, if on a retail cart of these games, if they crash at the same spot on a flashme'd DS too, or if holding down SELECT makes the retail cart work....)

Thanks for your replies.

And i think this thread makes sense because:
-the possibility that some unspoken/unwritten release dates are known
-to say/write here what should be in v8
-annoucing the release date here provides a fast solution for all users that uses thread-notification

Otherwise flashmev7 has always some minor 'glitches' on a NDSLite:
-startup isn't smooth enough
... a little clicking sound appears
... and a first white screen for a few ms with some color noise (mostly in the lower right quarter)... and that issue doesn't look very good.

...so i still hope v8 and unflashme would be presented in the near future

...the jigsaw puzzle issue sounds very bad ... i'll try this in the next days, too. I'll tell you my experiences...

So you basically said what I said in more words, that the information doesn't exist.

I just burnt 0534 to my Ultraflashpass and it works fine on my flashed DS.

It crashed on my EZ4 like yours on the second time I ran it. The first time it locked up before the menu. Did this on both roms. but when I rebooted the EZ4 it wrote a save to the cart, then next time I was able to get into the menu. But it locked up when i selected a game.

honestly why dont you guys mention what you want in the next flashme...

Firmware restore ability
Problematic Game support

What else could you ask for...
(sending download play to a non flashed nds is never going to happen so dont ask for it, if this feature comes availible it will be in the form of a rsa patcher....but if that happens the whole scene as we know it is going to change ...all im saying is dont count on it)

Mainly because the devs behind FlashMe are anti-piracy. People on the gbadev boards are already requesting a true noflashme for lites and it hasn't happened yet.

i finally tried the 534-game on a flashed NDSLite and...

1st: it must be converted with 'enable patch cartridge access' else it will come up with nothing as a white screen.

my 1st try without a superkey:
-it comes up with a jap. message and then it locked up with a white screen...
-but this doesn't happen again ... very strange...

with a superkey inserted or without it doesn't matter:
-it comes up like the normal game i think (...a little bee + hudson appears first ... then the game menu with a little puppie)
->i can change some options but all those buttons who will start a game doesn't work and end up with 2 screens in total black :(

...anyone an idea to solve this...
