Well today i turned on my DS and there's just two white screens with the MMP cartrige, the normal DS part works fine. So basically i cant use my dock anymore because datel doesnt work with flashme either and i've tried reformatting but that's not the issue...anyone know what i can do? And i cant even use the Max Media Launcher...because Datel's crap isnt a GBA flashcart...
I think this is what happend.
The Datel MMP firmware is on the cartridge and that loads into SRAM or w/e
And i was trying out the AR rom and i guess it must have erased the firmware on the cartridge making it useless...so i guess im stuck, cause the firmware on the cartridge would explain why it cant be booted with flashme and other passme's because theres nothing on the actual dock, its just a reader.

Try putting Datel's bootme.nds on the dock and reboot. I doubt it will work but worth a shot. Other than that, you may try to repeat the process this time writing bootme.nds to your card? (with the help of some friends nopass, etc? )

Ya, i've thought of many ways to get the firmware re-written back to the card, but they all require money. I was first thinking of buying a cheap supercard CF because i already have flashme and then just running the bootme from that w/ the DATEL card in the NDS slot. Or i was going to try doing a WIFI-ME because my DS is flashed, but that wont help me either because i dont have a WIFIME compatable card. I have tried writing it to the dock and then waiting a bit and just tapping the screen where i think BOOTME.NDS is, and hoping for a miracle, but that didnt work. I even got a little desperate and got a NDS emulator and put the emulator + bootme.nds onto my card then turned on my DS and then opened the emulator and ran the BOOTME.NDS, but alas nothing has worked :'( i e-mailed DATEL support hopefully theres a force-boot key or something that will boot the original firmware or something so that you can re-write it, doubtful but im still hoping.
Even better yet? does anyone know what kind of card the NDS cards are? prolly something special that they dont sell a card reader for huh?
Oh, and i wish i had friends who had this stuff :P

Have you tried loading just the Max Media Launcher without the dock in the system?? What happens? If it comes up and says no device found try reformatting your card. If it does not come up then you definately somehow messed with the firmware on the card.

I know some of the cards have a special cable thingy that they use to update their firmware, though I am not sure if they use it on Slot 1 cards or Slot 2. Maybe you can fix the firmware with such a cable.

Trust me, i know i erased the firmware or something. When i boot it w/ just the MMP card in the SLOT 1 of the DS (not the GBA dock part) i get the same 2 white screens. when i boot it not in slot 1 and i have only the dock part in the NDS says "Option Pack Inserted". And i dont have such a cable, because MMP i guess wasnt meant to have a backup plan...? The firmware isnt on the dock itself either, its on the little cartridge that came with it, it doesnt work without it, because the firmware isnt stored on the dock part as i think the other 'Flash-Carts' are.

Well then you are left with only 2 options, return the MMP for repair to Datel or get a new one. Or this may be a divine intervention to tell you go buy a better cart :P

I have a supercard and have tried loading bootme.nds and the Max media Launcher rom from the menu with my max media launcher in the DS slot. Nothing, 2 white screens on both of them.

If you used bootme.nds the 1.2 version it wont work, you have to use 1.01 or earlier because from reading the 1.2 thread i guess it doesnt write itself to the card.

I guess that wouldn't work also. As far as I know only Max Media Player can read or write from Max Media Dock, SuperPass or PassCard 3 will not allow you run files from MMD. Your best chance would be booting your dock with another MMP cart. and remove it, insert the broken one and double click on 1.01 NDS to flash it. That MAY fix your problem.

The whole problem is that i have no way of doing any of these things that require extra stuff like another MMP or a supercard because i dont have em :P and if im just going to try and flash it with another cart i might as well buy one that works better altogether, im still waiting on that reply from tech support, maybe they have an idea :D but thanks for the suggestions. (sp?)
oh, and again, does anybody know if there are card readers for NDS games? prolly not but worth a shot :)

I would save up some cash. Go to Best Buy and get another, wait like an hour and take it back with your "broken" cart and get a refund. Best Buy are pretty good with refunds. It's not very honest, but playing with that ROM wasn't either.

Ya, but do you think that bestbuy will even accept it? because i didnt buy the 4GB HDD i bought the dock right from Datel and i wouldnt have a reciept or anything if i went to bestbuy i wouldnt even have the HDD to give cause i didnt get one...and for $150 i might as well just get another cart that will work better :\
...And whats honest when your talking about Flash carts? :p

They sell the docks at best buy, that's where I got mine($40). Buy one and take it back demanding a refund with your dead card instead of the one it came with. I mean, it doesn't work, and you JUST bought it right? What a rip-off.;)

Wish my BestBuy was that understanding... they will only exchange for the same product, and after hemming and hawing they maybe just might possibly consider thinking about giving you store credit if you're lucky.

well i wouldnt mind getting a replacement product! :P i just want it to work again! :P Should i take the whole dock down there? in the box? Then dock is bent a little but its hardly noticable :P would you say they'd give me a refund/exhange if i had the box? with everything in it? hopefully i dont need a reciept? :P
