Does your SuperCard Lite look like the back of the white one with the ridge on the bottom? I have two and mine are flat and don't have the ridge.

I got mine directly from Romman last week and it had the shaved off bottom on the back. Here is some video of my Supercard Lite that shows it:

I dont get it...
is the difference the case? or the whole unit (including the inside mobojobo) and whats the whole advantage anyways? does it make it more easier to pull out?

In theory the new model should make it easier to pull out of the DS, so am I right DeVs?

Sorry bud don't know if it fits better for 2 reasons:

1: Nintendo still has my DS. There fixing the cracked hinges and I wont get them back till this tuesday

2: I don't have the older SC Lite so I couldn't tell you if this one fits better then the older one.

I will however tell you on tuesday if I have any problems getting it in and out of the DS Lite.

Well, if you got one I'm sure they already changed the mold and all new shipments should be like the new model. And I compared the dust cover and the dust cover does have the little are cut out to so I think it should make it much easier to get in and out as that’s the area that is causing problems.

The SuperCard Lite English has been out since the end of July. All new SuperCard Lite English models should now be the new fixed molding.

I was asking about the new molding one, but thanks for your amazingly quick response. I think im just gonna wait a while before I buy SCL to give time for the dealers to recieve the new moldings. =D

The Supercard team has reportedly released a new Chinese version of the Lite device (<a href="http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=9221" target="_blank">review</a>) which features an improved and better fitting mould. Devs reports the recent version he received was also this improved version, perhaps this is why there has been such irregularities with the Supercard lite shipping! It shouldn't be so hard to add and remove from now on...

I translated the captions fromt he source on that thread. Supposedly they claim that the shaved part does indeed fix the complaint that many had about it being too hard to stick in and pull out of the DS (that sounds so wrong). That was one reason that kept me from purchasing the SC Lite, another was: Do they support homebrew? I'd very much like to try out DSOrganize....

DeVS

Yes, you can play homebrew on the Supercard Lite.

I bought my Supercard lite on Aug 13th and the retailer had told me that the Supercard team had informed them that the card should already be easier to fit into the DS lite. I would say that it's still hard, but not to the point where a bit more pressure would not be able to remove the card from it's slot. I've read reports of people needing some sort of tool to somehow leverage the card out of the slot, mine however can be removed with slightly more force so I guess maybe mine was already an improved version? The problem is that the card is not completely flat and smooth on all sides. You can see that the card's plastic is lacking a bit at some parts of the side of the card hence a gap is seen.

Great...i just bought a SC Lite last week.
And i got the old crappy one.

Its so tight, it deforms the shape of my DS.

Now the DS dosn't sit perfectly flat on the table.
Piece of ****.

Lol, thats not possbile!

And I would say only the next batch of shipments will have the new mold. Look at the pics in the link and you'll see how there is an indention in the bottom near the pins where older versions were just flat like the rest of the SCL.

Not joking.

Before i got the sclite, my DS say perfectly flat on the table. After inserting the sclite, if i put the DS on the table, and push the top left and bottom right corner, it wobbles. Kind of like a chair or table with slightly uneven legs. I assume because it's such a tight fit, it makes the back of the DS bulge out a little bit, though not enough to be noticable visually, but enough to make the bottom surface slightly uneven. After taking it out, the problem almost goes away, but theres still the tiniest bit of wobble. I conclude that the DS has been permanantly deformed.

Then I suggest returning your SuperCard Lite as you have a faulty card. I have two SuperCard Lite's and neither make my DS Lite do what you say.

Buy direct from Hopebuy (the company that makes supercards) or also known as Romman.

FifthE1ement

Hopebuy is just a member of the romman.net group but is not owned or operated by him.

Hopebuy is just as good as Winsunx also. I suggest picking one up from the SuperCardStore.com if you are in Europe or Realhotstuff.com if you're in the USA as both should have the new molds now as previous stocks have sold out.

So your case doesn't have that groove at the back of the Supercard at the very bottom of the casing?

Check the US stores in the flashcart guide:

www.Winsunx.com takes Western Union and they are very good. They are locatted in China but have 3 days shipping to the USA and are very very very cheap!

Winsunx sells English versions not Chinese unless the product says so. And even the SuperCard Lite says "SuperCard Lite TF English Version". They are a very good store and ship ASAP in 3 days to your door.

I can second this.

I just received my SC Lite. It is the new version with the groove at the rear. Comes in and out really easily but does cause the GBA slot to bulge out a bit.

I've had a bit of a poke around inside the SC Lite and it appears that two components (one from each board) are stacked on top of/right next to each other.

When the SC Lite is inserted, it is compressed very slightly along its length except at the point where these two components sit. This causes the bulging.

I'll post pictures if anyone is interested.

Cheers

Hm... I think I am one of the lucky ones that got a perfect card. Groove at bottom, not too hard to take out, and no GBA slot bulge as mine can sit perfectly still on the table with the Supercart lite inserted.

Purchased from BambooGaming last week. Arrived yesterday.

It's about as easy to insert/remove as the dust cover. Maybe a tad more fiddly as it's not as rigid.

I'll try to post some pictures later today. It's currently work time in AU ;)

Hmmm, forum doesn't appear to like images.

Anyway, for some truly amatuer macro photography:

http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1306/dsdb4.jpg

You can sort of see the bottom of the GBA slot bowing out when the SC Lite is inserted. It is more obvious if it's in your hands or sitting on a hard surface.

The high point is right on the edge of the microSD holder (doesn't look that way in the photo unfortunately). This is where the holder and another component stack on top of each other.

This isn't overly worrying me. I may get out the sandpaper and/or Dremel this weekend if I get super keen.

Everything appears to work OK anyway.

Cheers

No it's still a beast getting it out of the DS Lite.

I can only echo previous posts, its quite hard to get the SCLite out of the DSL but you can do it with your fingernails, you just have to apply more pressure.
There is NO WAY this goes in and comes out just as easy as the dust cover, and it DOES cause the bowing that others have reported!!
Also the SCL casing itself is slightly open on the sticking out end nearest the card slot, and the thin bit of plastic covering the card slot is actually at a funny angle...hmm its hard to explain, but it looks as if there is something beneath the plastic (as mentioned before) that is forcing the middle of the front and back casing to bow outwards a little.

Same here, but after removing the card a couple of times, the Supercard seems to be easier to remove. The chinese edition seems to be easier to remove.
