Hi Guys,

after some changes to the source-code and with support from MisterSentient i got a Version of DSDoom running with Max Media Player on my Max Media Dock (CF-Card, not the HDD).

You should consider this version as beta/testing - I can't give any warranty for it. It works fine for me and so far i haven't discovered any problems. But that might also prove wrong.

In order to get DSDoom running you first of all nedd to get it from here (http://dsdoom.devkitpro.org/dsdoom.zip) and follof the installation instructions.
Then grab my modified nds-file.
To get everything running place all the files in the root-directory of your cf-card (dont forget your wad-file).
Due to some compatibility-issues with the Max Media Player you need to rename the "dsdoom_mmd.nds" to "bootme.nds". Otherwise it won't work.
And then - at last - just turn on your NDS and enjoy a great game.

Thanks to the guys from DSDoom for making such a superb port and MisterSentient for his support. Special Thanks to the Moonshell-Team for implementing the MMD FAT code.

Can't wait to try it out. Unfortunately my CF reader is on the fritz at the moment so I can't write things to my CF card.

That's bad. Hope you get this fixed soon.

At the Moment I try to get this work without the bootme-fix - cause it's rather annoying. So far I know, that the Max Media Launher has a compatibility problem with the console-commands from libnds. So I try to get rid of all the console-related commands in the sourcecode.

I let you know when I'm done.

brumi, as far as I know you mimicked what they did on ScummVS for DS. Is it possible to use the same method to make DSOrganize? Because as far as I see, the problem with DSOrganize is, it cannot reach CF because of FAT libs.
I'd like to try it myself but I have no idea what you have done :) Never worked on libs before. If you explain it in detail, I may try it mysefl mayhaps?

By the way, bootme-fix worked for Doom in my case, played it, saved and loaded with no problem.

You're right Solitude. I did quite the same to the DSDoom source as MisterSentient did to the ScummVM source.

When I'm finished with DSDoom (I want it running without that annoying bootme-fix and with all the files kept in directory "/games/dsdoom/" instead of "/") I might take a look at DSOrganize.

For the time being i hope you enjoy DSDoom on your MMD.

Forgive my being a n00b, but what exactly is "DSDoom"? And what does it do?

DsDOOm is a game ported from the PC version.. Its a first person shooter.. Guns from the past and future... and you fight monsters.. That game gives me a headache though....

This is the best game for DS and I mean it. It's the best homebrew or commercial game ever. Congrats

I can't tell what's going wrong unless you post more information. What version are you using (I hope the newer one, which works without the bootme-fix)? Where have you put all the files? Did you rename the shareware-wad-file to doom.wad?

Well i finally got it running. I did have all the correct files and i did renamed the wad to doom.wad but renaming the wad wasn't enough, I was able to get the game running only after renaming it DOOM.WAD all capital letters. Thanks Brumi for bringing this great classic to the nds.

It is possible that the game doesn't like the CF card you are using. Apparently some homebrew have problems reading from certain cards.

I was just wondering: does this version of DS Doom support more than 1 wad in the base folder? I tried making multiple folders with different wads, but the main prog just went right back to the base folder for the doom.wad everytime. Thanks by the way, this thing plays awesome.
