Final Fantasy III recently made its debut on the DS in Japan, as you would expect the launch was a great success with many retailers opening up early for the excessive crowds! The actual bundle sold out as quick as 30 minutes in some stores and within an hour at others.
According to Famitsu, some stores had around 80 people lining up at 3 AM, but by 8:30 AM, there were up to 150. Yodobashi Camera, a retail store in Japan, opened up 45 minutes earlier than usual, which is usually 9:30 AM.
The limited edition Final Fantasy III DS Lite bundle sold out within 30 minutes at Yodobashi and within an hour at other places. Some people even left to go to other places because the hardware bundle sold out.
