I got word from Danny that the M3's version of the DS-Xtreme (DS slot loading mod) is done. They are waiting for the chip maker to complete with the mass production of there chip. There will be 2 versions, 1: A Micro SD cart and 2: A internal memory unit (like G6 has) and will come in 4G & 8G. BOTH versions have passme built into them.

Good news for everyone that just pre-ordered the M3 Lite!

The M3 Lite will have GBA support unlike this mod which until (if ever) there is a GBA emu, the GBA carts will still have an edge over these DS slot mods.

Well so far this is just talk, M3 may not even have a prototype yet - DS-X was just announced a short while back, M3 were busy with the M3 Lite...

So far these are just words, and Supercard and whoever else can say tomorrow we are working on a 20gbit one with Micro SD support and pink feathers on the top :).

Well we know what name the internal memory version will go under, G6, lol. I think they should just keep the M3 name and keep it simple as most people have no clue that M3 and G6 are the same company. Why waste branding two different trademarks when you can make one so much better by itself?

The SuperCard team may also be working on something but they don't release so much as a screenie until the unit is already in production and is almost ready to ship. I love the way they do it as I'm not waiting, it seems, forever for something to come out! I love to hear its coming next week and getting just as excited.

But lets remember what Zeus said as this all may be just a rumor. I can't see how they could be done with a Slot 1 solution considering they have been having problems with the M3 Lite's PCB and making it fit into the GBA slot let alone the DS slot. All in good time my children!

whos gonna notice something THAT small in the ds slot?

well there probably is gonna be something wrong with the m3 ds-x style, because its so small. which can lean towards the m3 lite as the superior one. i would probably stick with m3 lite, because my gba slot is kinda useless since i dont play gba games, and it wont be too hard to lose compared to the ds sized one which people tend to take in and out to play different games.

Wrong? Lets see... 3 hours better battery, less money, no patching, 2 player ds download play, no gba cart, ability to use expansion gba slot carts... hmmmmmm I think the Slot 1 solutions win! Unless you are a GBA hog which I don't play many gba games anyway.

Since the mods are going to be going in the DS slot direction, the future of GBA playing will have to come from a GBA emu. Hopefuly it won't take a long to for 1 to be developed but im guessing it will be awhile before we have a full speed & sound GBA emu on the DS.

but do you think the expandable memory is gonna be dependable?? for that size a microsd has to be used, is there even gonna be enough space for that?

Have you seen the DSLink? Its the same size as a DS cart and uses microSD memory. They just did a test of it on yyjoy and from what I can translate it did well. Problem there is that you have to have a flashed DS to use it.

The first post says that both the g6 and the m3 slot 1 solutions will have a built in passme, why didnt the ds link?

Because it would make the card uneccesarily expensive. Most people would have a flashed DS or the tools neccessary to flash it. To add a passme function, the card would have to have dedicated memory with genuine Nintendo DS cart codes to trick the NDS. Therefore, it's reasonable that they made a cart without it and so it could be sold for less (makes sense no? we all like things to be cheaper)

Fair enuf, but why are m3 and g6 doing it then?

First of all, M3 is known to be "top of the line" where quality and workmanship is above other carts, including their pricing. They have more money to burn at development and I believe they are aiming for another market, a new generation where passme devices could become obsolete. Supercard and DS link aims mostly at the Asian market (and indeed Supercard sales far exceed M3 in Asia) where you can go into any gaming shop to get your NDS flashed at $5. Whereas M3, G6 aims for international markets where most people need to flash the DS themselves and therefore need some sort of passme device. Including it in would mean international users would no longer need to purchase another piece of hardware with their flash carts.
