Dark Alex's POC

I just installed this custom firmware, just because i heard that you can recover it when bricked.
My question is, does this apply to harleyg's mod only or even dark alex's??
note that I've installed it via X flash V14

If I keep pressing R when the psp is booted i get the recovery menu. But the manual says it only recovers small stuff not critical stuff..

So.. can anyone explain this whole recovery thing using dark alex's mod??

do I have everything installed? am I missing something??

The HarleyG mod has a slightly improved recovery mode. The latest version requires that you boot then place the switch into the 'hold' postion to activate the recovery mode.
You will need to remove any custom FW first before you can install HarleyG

before I install it, is there anyway I can install it without the extra features(main concerns are stuff like.. while wlan up it boots to xmb and down boots to devhook).. and stuff like that.. I dont want those stuff..

all I want from custom firmware is 2 things

1- the no xploit thing..
2- the recovery mode.. "just incase"

so is Dark alex's sufficient for those? if not, anyway to not use the new features in harlegys?


or at least.. can i use dark alex's custom firmware with harleygs recovery mode?

The DarkAlex POC suites your needs better I feel, though I recommend the HarleyG.

Techincally yes, you could have the HarleyG recovery with DarkAlexs FW. Just by replacing the recovery.elf in the DarkAlex POC with the one from HarleyG.

Just download both FW packs and look inside. You'll see the recovery.elf in the PSP\GAME\customfirmware (or whatever its called) folder.

I think I did it.. I dont see any "side effects" and my recovery menu says harleygs 0.2 .. thats it.. thats the latest recovery menu.. right??
