not to take any glory from cory and automan i wanted a clearer picture of the UP and its points this is what i ended up with UP diagram with clip removed tomorrow btw after numerous installs and tests its only down to the fpc 20% of the time it's the actual pins in the clip that fail if you insert it, and it works first time dont fiddle removing and reconnecting ready for the final rebuild leave it alone glue it do what ever you do and you wont have a problem.

Im finding the red wrather tough to read at a glance and tell which legs they point to (especially B C and D - they look to be pointing at 2 legs each)

Clearer lines, more mangled letters :( but more easily read... perhaps a brighter red color would make it more visible?

Last try cant win them all the first one looks fine for me :) its scaling at 98% on firefox so will look like mangled letters just click to zoom in and all should become clear :)

BTN1 and A were missing all fixed and accurate now :)
this has to be the most researched for repairs in the short ammount of time it has been available over any other modchip released.

another diagram as promised this makes for a much better bypass :) neater aswell the clip is easy to remove no iron needed if your careful just use a sharp blade to remove the plastic casing then unsolder the pins or cut them away either way will do it, i know vatovey was after this so hope it helps you mate it has me :)

Any idea what the unused points could have been for? (Q,R and the other one?)
Thanks scroller :)

Q and R must have some use maybe for development of the bootloader ?
the last pad is floating NC to anything

Found a stupid error on the last diagram please re download i also changed the orientation which is more suitable when doing the bypass otherwise things would be upside down.

Now the single most common installation error I have seen in this board so far...
scroller's PM box being full

Is this possible? Has anyone successful done this?
'Cos my third chip I ordered came in an envelope!
It came in pretty *smashed* up and the whole UP black box was flattened.
The black clip on fpc connector was broken off.
The fpc cable when inserted into the connector/UP board was loose.
I tested for connectivity on the fpc cable with the points on the UP board.
Almost all failed the continuity test.
I have contacted the reseller on this and still in the progress of settling this issue.
But I'm looking at the worst case scenario if I have to solder directly on the board.
Sigh...
Any other tips?
Thx

Was it insured otherwise i doubt the retailer will take responsibilty (unless there decent people) I would say otherwise this seems like your only other option!

There was no insurance offered.
But I still cannot understand why it was put in an envelope.
Though it was a bubble envelope, it still doesn't make sense.
It should have been shipped in a box instead.

Thats how my first chip came and yes it does'nt make "common" sense but i spose it saves them pennys?! Cant think of any other reason apart from laziness ?! Keep us posted on the situation!

Ehh....is there some error in the diagram (revised UP FPC BYPASS.JPG).
My 'L' seems to be on the 2nd-pin from the right on the Actel chip rather that the 1st-pin. Or is it possible perhaps by FPC is slipped or something?
Thanks.

well it's to complement it really if only 1 or 2 connections dot go all the was to the actel but you can do a full bypass with it bit it's much better to remove the clip on the UP and go direct to the board from these points.
