The gamecube serving and ripping software works in a vmware virtual pc envornment.

I've done several extractions and run several games through vmware workstation 4.5.2
whats the point?
Have the game server on its own virtual computer running in a window on a 'better used for other things' system.
You can ad virtual ethernet ports and assign ips, and it wont affect the base system.
I have a xp pro running in 128 meg assigned ram, with 2 assigned nics, which is from a ghost and restore of my old p2 350, on a 1.4 ghz 768 meg ram single nic system.
The 'envornment' OS occupies 2 gig on the HD, and i have all my images on dvd, so i dont have to deal with the old computer anymore.
delay 1 strobe 1, and at the moment, running through 2 lan switches.. perhaps not ideal, but its been running everything ive tried ok.
the best thing i can think of with this is that it can be put onto a system or moved around, and not affect the base systems network configuration at all.
I'm sure it runs fine from a conventional laptop, which would otherwise be to much trouble to rework the netwokring every time the gamecube is to be used.
