OK, I soldered the wires on, connected lid-switch cable and reassembled my cube, but all I got was the front LED and the spinning fan. Also drive unit didn't seem to be attached properly, is there enough space for wires above the heatsink? I managed to get Qoob SX into installation area which was hard work due to the stingy size of the blue cables.

I opened up my cube again to check everything and everything seemed to be assembled right, I went over my soldering again and made sure connections were tight but still no luck.

Now I can't even get the case off my Gamecube because it's stuck, it doesn't look good :( .

I got the case off my cube and tried putting the original Lid-switch cable back in. When I boot-up my cube the screen on my TV just momentarily flashes and my Gamecube doesn't spin the disc, though the LED is lit and the fan is blowing.

Problem fixed, had a fiddle with everything. I shortened the exposed metals on the wires so that they didn't touch the heatsink, I think that might have been the problem.
