Hi All,
Quick question re: flashing a DS. There's loads of guides on how to do it. But what I want to know is this:-
If I flash my DS, can I still play "Normal" DS carts in the DS. So can I still play my games that I've purchased?
The reason I ask is because, if I have a Superkey in the DS slot, I cant do anything with the DS unless I either take it out, or put the Supercard in.
Hope that makes sense..

Flashing your DS Lite will not prevent you from playing with your legit DS games. Just take the flashkey out (and that shouldn't be there in the first place once the flash has been applied), and then just pop your cartridge in and play.

Ok, the advantages of flashing are
1- Quicker boot-up times
2- No nopass needed
3- Can recive DS downloads from every flashcart.
This is how it works.
1- Bootup with a GBA flash cart - Goes automatticly to the menu of the card
2- Bootup with no flash cart(DS game and/or GBA game in) - Goes directly to main menu. Skips health warning.

so the only reason for flashing is so you can start your games quicker and so you can download games from other DS??

And no need for passme. Just do it. Nothing should go wrong if its connected to power. Ive flashed 3 DS's so far.
The best tool to do it is tin foil. You can shape i anyway you want, and make it very skinny. Good stuff.

You haven't wasted your money, as you need a passkey/max media launcher if you want to flash it.
Flashing won't allow you to do more, but it has more compatibility with flashcarts, than say a superkey or passcard.

Thanks guys.
I flashed my DS today. It was a hairy experience :) but it worked out just fine... after a little probing with the toothpick I hit the g-spot and it flashed up just fine.
And I can confirm that the Download play games of "backup" roms work just fine now.
Cheers!!

When you boot to the DS menu (not autoboot) do you get a chance to choose the DS dlot. Or is there ony Start GBA game?
