Based on Dark_Alex's and co. PSP dowgnrader, Xtrustion has made an 'easy' version of it, which is said to install all the required files to downgrade your PSP as if it were like a PC game installation.

Yes, the old version of GTA and a memory card. I haven't used this Easy Downgrader so I don't know if it includes eLoader too.

The full installs EVERYTHING, even the not legal stuff so I won't endorse it, but it does install everything you need.

You can play Outrun on a 1.50 PSP ..mine works just fine with DH 0.44 and f/w 2.71.:D

You can use it if you have a factory 2.5 AS LONG AS your mobo is NOT A TA-082!!! That is VERY IMPORTANT! This installer will walk you through that process and show you how you can tell if your PSP is compatible or not ;)!

There is a link to it on the first page, you will need to upgrade to 2.6 (or 2.5) and have a copy of GTA. Altho if you are patient, there might be a downgrader soon that does NOT require GTA ;)!

1007 PSPs can't run the 1.5 update EBOOT.PBP, that's why they would have to use the other downgrader ;)! Using the MPH Downgrader is impossible on those PSPs.

Actually it can, the units I refered to were units from a particular region. Any NON TA-082 or units that are NOT 1006 or 1007 CAN be downgraded with ANY of the downgraders ;)! This means a non TA-082 PSP from 1001 (US) that is factory 2.5, can be downgraded to 1.5, upgraded to 2.0, then downgraded with the MPH downgrader ;)!

Yes you can play homebrew, BUT you cannot downgrade. You need to install the 2.71 firmware on your PSP and you will then be able to run homebrew and backups. You CAN run homebrew from 2.6, but I would recommend 2.71 ;)!

if you use the generic downgrader (from 2.71) then there is no need to have any game. You want to make sure your battery is fully charged and plugged in while downgrading to help prevent any accidental powering off of the unit.

Um...it won't RUN without GTA if you are trying to use the downgrader that requires it ^_^;;;....the way you start it is, you put GTA in the drive, boot the game, and instead of loading the gamesave it loads the eloader, where you can start the downgrader...Honestly the 2.71 downgrading method is much more secure...

Downgraded my nieces 2.6 to 1.5 using the full programme, worked like a charm. Thanks to all who made this possible.
I have since upgraded to the 3.02B custom thing. Had success with some iso games and stuff, just need a much bigger mem stick.

Just another affirmative - I today downgraded a non TA-082 board psp with firmware 2.71 installed to 1.5, then upgraded to 3.03 OE-C without any issues! A little stressful since I've only had my new baby a few weeks :) But I thought the ability to tinker was worth the try *gulp*

I have found the maxconsole forums to be extremely informative during this little exercise - nice work guys!! I can certainly see this is a vibrant community...

kudos to birdman for gathering together the guides that I used to help upgrade to 3.03 OE after the downgrade.

So yeah - can't speak for anyone else's psp, but mine accepted the downgrade then upgrade fine, and this easy downgrader from xtrusion.es made the downgrade a breeze...

So, let me see if i understood correctly:

1. I can downgrade any PSP with firmware lower or equal to 2.71 and not TA-082
2. If the PSP is a TA-082 i need to upgrade to 2.71 an then downgrade to 1.5
3. The Xtrsuion downgrade has everything i need including devhook and some other firmware versions
4. If the PSP has a firmware higher than 2.71 i have to wait...
5. Once i have downgraded to 1.5 and installed devhook i can run games from ISO's and CSO's etc., run or apply higher firmwares like 3.03 OE and use homebrew applications like PMPMod AVC player...

Am i right?

you can send it back to sony to fix it, but its hit and miss whether you'll get a downgradeable version back

if its still in warrenty, its free, if not its usually about £35GBP

I put the update.pbc in psp/game/update & all in caps but it wouldn't boot

I'm New to the PSP Scene and looking to buy one. Been surfing the forums now for a while. And have a few questions If i was to buy a PSP. I'm looking at geting the dexter pack with the silver PSP. What version of software is on it? And are the newer PSP able to downgrade?

To most people wondering if your firmware has a downgrade, if you use a Pandora's battery (or a tool battery...same thing) and magic memory stick you can downgrade any firmware. Go to the tutorials or the free Pandora sevice.

And my question... i have a tool battery, but i dont have cfw(If i did i wouldn't need to downgrade) how do i get or make a magic memory stick? any programs or gui's?:confused:

id been reading a lot in this forums & trying each one of them but seems it doesnt work.

i have a psp slim which had been brick by upgrading a 390firmware
so when ever i tried to run those programs which i downloaded from this site it doesnt run. an error occurs 800XXXX unable to run the program.


i called someone who could fix this and he just use a pandora fat bat & magic stick.

now i have a 390m33


anyone could help me on how to make a pandora & magic stick on my slim

coz i do have a extra battery & a 1gb MS

could i run those program which can be downloaded to darks page?


pls i hope someone could give me a walkthrough

i just downloaded ff9 torrent and i already unrar with winrar i put the file in the gam efolder of my psp but i get the message' copyright information is invalid " so i was told to downgrade and get ' pandoras battery" i downloaded the following fiels to my psp "game folder " pandoras battery firm installer , pandoras battery creator, time machine .and despertar del cementerio and psp update 1.50 . and they all say the same thing ' game cannot be started' can you please help me what am i missing ?

do not use a downgrader!!! they always brick your psp!! only use a pandora battery.
